The new slim and lite version of Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld console is set to roll out in the UK, but with two new features being absent. Of course, the P2P is still slimmer than the original PSP, but when it launches in shops on September 14th, its video output capabilities will be temporarily useless. While the PSP will be technically able to connect to a TV, the cables that make it possible will be absent.
The new version of the PSP addresses demand from owners who would like to watch their games and movies on a TV instead of the small PSP screen. PSP gaming on a TV, connected up with a special cable, was demonstrated at E3 this year and is probably the most wanted new feature. However, the cable won't be available in the UK on launch day and there are no indications as to when it will be, a spokesman for national retail chain GAME told GamesRadar.
Additionally, onbly the black model of the slimmer PSP will be available, while the new colours, ceramic white and ice silver, will not initially be available either. There is no doubt that British PSP fans will be hoping these reports are inaccurate or there has been a big mix up somewhere.

And Sony wonder why they lose so much money? Remember the last time people from the UK started importing PSPs Sony just about lost their heads with it sending decease letters left and right to companies shipping PSPs overseas, well guess what might just happen again..

I'm guessing this has something to do with PAL output. I can wait a few months for this to be implemented and hopefully they might throw this into a bundle package for making us wait.

Is it just rushed out to the UK market without sorting out the problems first...? Leaving out two important things that would make the new PSP different from the old one, and the users happy...? I'm starting to doubt that any company exec can be this dumb and still remain in his chair. I think this is good for $ony somehow, I just have to figure out how. :-/

As long people buys Sony products... it's OK for them.
Every time Sony comes up with a "new" crap, promise to be the greatest, and the best, but when is about to be release or is in the stores for sale.
All of sudden the "new" crap.. can't do this or can't do that !..
(SONY Playstation) - "Oh, wait for an Update.... the Update 1.xx is coming out soon, and I promise you this time this update will work for you.... blah, blah, blah....oh, and I want to tell you that you must buy this attachment for it to work properly, with this attachment you'll get Super-Extreme High Def...it will cost you another... just only $200 dollar, cheap ..."
People open your eyes, you have to stop dealing with Sony completely

Quote: the P2P is still slimmer than the original PSP,
This maybe a typo that needs to get fixed.
