so what will they do if 75% say that we get movies and stuff from illegal sites? Are they going to fine us all and put us in jail. They wonder why our economy is in finanial debt. They keep fining us for having other ways to get music, movies etc.....

I find it amazing at how many people think that downloading a .torrent or Rapidshare file is "unauthorized" but watching it from an illegal streaming site like Moviex.com or any of the countless other streaming sites is perfectly legal and OK.

What would be interesting is what percentage of downloaders are also/the amount of their consumeristic behaviors.

I used to download, but I also purchased, too.
The more I download the better idea I have of watch to buy; and the more I purchased.

I think that there is some 24 hour period that one is "allowed".
I think that they do that so you can only upload for 24 hours. Some people will download a torrent but not "complete it" to 100% by neglecting to let a non-necessary file download completely, like the trailer so that they don't have the entire material.

I don't know the details,but it doesn't bother me enough to research it :)

8% is only what this study has surveyed and found out about. This is not going to solve the issue and this is a worldwide pandemic that is kinda unstoppable all i like doing is just reading this cause it does not show a cure for the problem only a band aid solution.

Thery're working on a solution. ISPs are monitoring user bandwidth. They'll turn in users who download and torrent. Mpaa will have a witchhunt. And by purchasing/renting their movies and subscribing to premium movie channels you are financing them. Just increased my monthly cost at Netflix to 1 cd unlimited and now can watch unlimited streaming movies and Starzplay and the main Starz channel included. For $10US a month. Cable, dish can't touch that. And at 768m download speed the video is acceptable. C*mcast cable goes out a couple times a day for several minutes. Dish quits during thunderstorms. (asked installer to peak dish's aim. He said it was aimed well enough.)
