MPAAMotion Picture Association of America represents major movie studios in the U.S.
Organization has pretty much the same kind of role as music business's RIAA has -- it represents major movie studios in the U.S. and acts as their collective lobbying organization. Organization tries to fight against piracy, lobbies lawmakers in the U.S. to extend laws that would limit consumers' "fair use" rights, etc.
MPAA's global "sister" organization is called MPA.
