.epub

A .EPUB file is an e-book file. It is a free and open e-book standard developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).

Generally speaking, .epub files are intended to be used with e-book readers or other portable devices that run e-book applications, such as a tablet PC.

There are however some software solutions for those looking to read .EPUB files on their computers.

Calibre is a free, open-source e-book reader that supports the EPUB format, except in cases where Digital Rights Management (DRM) is in use.
