Shareware

Shareware quite simply is a software marketing tool developed somewhere around the mid-1980s and coined by one Bob Wallace in a freely distributed word processing program called PC-Write. Essentially, a shareware program is distributed through means such as, but not Limited to, download on the Internet or found inside related magazines to give a consumer the "try before you buy" experience of the software.
