I am looking for a program that allows me to copy streaming videos and burn them to a DVD for use in my music classroom. You Tube has some great vintage video of Leonard Bernstein and other great composers/conductors and I would love to show them to my older students. Unfortunately, my school district blocks this site. So, I'd love to figure a way to record them to DVD so I can show them in my class. Any suggestions?

cwing57,

First, I should like to draw you attention to a wonderful academic site for vast numbers of miscellaneous archives for free download:

http://www.archive.org/

Next, streaming video appears to be changing from the three favorites to Adobe's Flash, whose conversion to DVD is discussed in a guide on this wonderful site:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_youtube__google_video_etc__to_dvd.cfm

Finally, though it's not legal to copy YouTube videos, we (academics) know that exceptions are almost always made for educational purposes. Write them!
