DoubleTwist adds Amazon MP3

7 October 2009 21:29 by Andre "DVDBack23" Yoskowitz | 2 comments

DoubleTwist adds Amazon MP3 Last week, DVD Jon attacked Apple and promised his media management software doubleTwist would giver users "choice."

Today, that "choice" has been revealed, as the company has integrated the Amazon MP3 store into its software, allowing users to browse and download from the 5 million strong catalog and sync the music to anyone of hundreds of devices supported by dT, including Android phones, the PSP, BlackBerrys and the Palm Pre (which Apple has been desperately trying to block sync to.)

The store is very straightforward, and does not include all the bells and whistles of the iTunes store, but in all honesty if you want to buy a song, all you really need is the song and a "buy" button.

From there, drag and drop the music into any of the connected devices.

So far the integration is only available for the Mac version of the software, with PC version "coming soon."

Once they get out the Windows version, this will be a force to be reckoned with...

I still don't know what Apple is thinking by blocking the Palm Pre from using iTunes (perhapse they are making too much money, and the taxes are killing them?)...maybe this is a good thing, as some of the sheep will stop using iTunes and go to something slightly better (not that Amazon's quality is very good...they don't even offer FLAC).
