Mozilla: No Firefox mobile browser for iOS

At this week's SXSW event, Mozilla's VP of Product Jay Sullivan says there will be no Firefox mobile browser for iOS coming.
The company does not agree with Apple's attitude towards third-party browsers.

For example, Apple's Safari uses the Nitro JavaScript engine while the company forces third-party browsers to use the less-efficient and slower UIWebView.

More importantly, Sullivan says, Apple places too many restrictions. These restrictions would not allow Mozilla to build the kind of browser that they want to, says Sullivan.

crApple: Let's limit third-party browser efficiency & capabilities by forcing them to use the less-efficient and slower UIWebView. While we continue using the Nitro JavaScript that will make our browser appear more efficient by comparison. Our followers will be duped-- er, convinced that we always make perfect products.
