iPod video conversion guide added

9 February 2006 18:53 by James "Dela" Delahunty | 4 comments

iPod video conversion guide added I have added a short and simple guide to converting video files (AVI, MPEG, WMV, RM, RMVB, DivX, ASF, VOB etc.) to MP4 files to watch on a video iPod. This will be the first addition of several guides and other content I will be adding for portable audio / video players over the coming weeks. For this guide I chose Free iPod Video Converter v1.32. I'll be adding more iPod video guides for both freeware and commercial software soon, and hopefully then a comparison between them.

This guide is for the people who have gotten an iPod recently, know their way around iTunes but don't know how to add their video files (a surprisingly large group of people). It won't be much help to more experienced users like Lethal_B, who has been very active and helpful in our iPod discussion forum (thanks) amongst other knowledgeable members. Still though, hopefully it'll make life a little easier for those who haven't tried it before.

Read the guide at: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_video_to_mp4_for_ipod_guide.cfm

Download Free iPod Video Converter from: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/free_ipod_video_converter.cfm

Any spelling mistakes, errors or general problems you find along with any suggestions, criticisms or questions - PM me (need to be logged in). I appreciate feedback, but support questions should go to the iPod forum.

Great guide aswell. Oh the joys of hotlinking :-)

I am around the iPod forum most so anyone who's stuck take all tech issues over there and I'll be happy to help ;-)

Hi, can anyone tell me if it is possible to copy and paste music from your ipod to another library which due to distance you're unable to get to. My friends bought an ipod but has asked if he could have some of my music put onto his. i live 200 miles from him, so thought i could save vaious tracks on a memory stick, and he could copy and paste onto his library. i was experimenting on my library with this but when it came to pasting the tracks, there was nowhere to follow the option. have they really restricted copying to that extent that you've got to purchase from them or constantly rip and burn?? any quick solutions would be vey much appreciated. Cheers! P
