Brazilian judge wants YouTube shut down

5 January 2007 2:21 by James "Dela" Delahunty | 13 comments

Brazilian judge wants YouTube shut down Due the appearance, removal and subsequent re-appearance of a celebrity sex video on YouTube, a Brazilian judge has ordered that the site be shut down. Brazilian model Daniela Cicarelli, and her boyfriend Tato Malzoni, are embarrassingly the stars of a sex video that YouTube users persist to re-upload every time the video sharing site removes the video at the couple's request.

Eventually they were driven to a lawsuit contesting that YouTube should be forced offline while the video remains hosted by the service. The judge agreed but since Google, which owns YouTube, operates out of the United States, it is extremely unlikely that the the site will be taken offline for any amount of time.

The only way the ruling would have its desired effect would be if a U.S. court decided to agree and mirror the Brazilian judge's ruling. Brazil, of course could block access to the site in the country but that won't change the fact that the video is still available. The liability of video sharing sites such as YouTube over content uploaded by users is still unclear.

We do not need universal internet laws. What do you support global government. How about if we just let china set the global laws. That is a terrible idea. Don't you have any respect for the nation state. Or are you just some globalist pimp. Terrible Terrible idea.

Two adults took the decision to have sex in full public view. The public saw it. Now the two adults are all upset about it. Come on!! As far as I know, nobody spied on them in their bedroom/property and posted it on "You tube". They must now live with the consequence of their actions.

I don't agree with a one universal law, but it will happen.

If u believe what the psychic "Sylvia Browne" says and has written about, there eventually will be a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT, or The New World Order. If that does happen...then surely a universal internet law would exist. I'll hopefully be dead by then.

For the present time though... I'll just sit back and chuckle at this entire internet scenario and watch countries argue and fight over something they cannot control.

There will be unfair winners and unfair losers. Life is not fair. Get used it...its only gonna get worse until it gets better....nfw !!!

This may be off topic but it is important. Google Bush Kennedy. The New world order is coming. Visit www.libertysflame.com and help fight it

LOL!!! :) I never said to have one country take over the world's governance. I believe in a New World Order that is circular and has all the world's nations in a organization like The United Nation's or NATO.

That is all i am going to say on the topic, cause i don't wanna get political. This is my opinion and I'm just stating my opinion agree or disagree it's your progative.

The whole thing i am getting to is that if we had countries helping each other out like teams instead of individualistic countries thinking they have the only way to deal with something. It's like a jigsaw and all countries have a piece of the puzzle and when they Unite that is when they will progress instead of just going their own way.

    End of it Case Closed.:)

    Here's a quick life lesson:

    Note to self,

Don't make personal sex tapes, cause they will come and bite you in the @ss.

I mean, seriously...if you are going to make something like that just keep it hidden away so nobody knows you have it.

Anyways...shutting down YouTube...yeah, like that is really going to happen.

hehe, I think I would speak for a lot of people when I say, The United Nations is one big useless waste of money and time. As for NATO, I have no comment.

The biggest problem we face today is there are WAY too many laws. Laws that would actually help people are many times never enforced and laws that help Corporate America are overly enforced.

I totally agree with pierrrre. What you do in public is public domain, and thats that.

Give me a break. Lets see. Paris Hilton, Brittany/K-Fed (unconfirmed), Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee, That's just a sample of a long list of sex tapes of celebrities in the public domain. If They don't like it then they shouldn't have made them in the first place! They must've been thinking with their genitalia because they sure as hell were not thinking with their brains!!

whats on the net should be left alone and not ruled coz its not like tv or a newspaper where we change channel or turn the page and we see somthin we dont like. if ya dont wanna look at it then don't go to the bloody site in the first page. ok this lets stuff we dont like slide thro but as i said we dont have to look at it in the first place so a universal ruler on the net should not happen.

Like XENON said, if they didnt want the tape to get out because of the embaressment, they shouldnt have made the tape. Seriously, if you sex life is so bad you got to do it on camera and watch yourselves, you got issues.

One global government would suck, ever hear of 1984? And I agree with the sane people here, it is public domain.

Mighty One, no flames intended since I agree with you for the most part. I sincerely hope that we never see a single governing body for the whole world. Having said that I do acknowledge that it may happen one day. It will not however happen because that Hag Sylvia Brown predicts it. Please lets open our eyes and see her for what she is, a person who desperately craves attention and the public spotlight. I will not say that all psychics are frauds. Looking at Ms Browns past record and the way that she makes excuses and changes what she stated when she is wrong, I sicerely believe her to be a fraud of the first magnitude. Of course you all have right to your opinions. Good day to all.
