only ps2 is left. I don't think ps2 will die anytime soon. since more good title is still coming out. I think it'll last for other year and half.

I don't see why they'd stop making their greatest hits titles. At least not until the end of this year. It makes shopping for games for the Wii console a little bit easier to look at. (lower price point in addition to everything else)

Heck, they're releasing some pretty cool rpgs on the ps2. I wonder why they do that when nextgen systems hit.

Heres a thought if you support your older system you can reprint the games cheap on disc or as downlaods and make OMG a profit off them,it might be a small profit but good god heres a thought support the older hardware and games and make a damn profit off it....

gamecube has a new title comming out called backyard football and another title that no one knows about yet comming out this year

and i really dont see ps2 dying any time soon because there are to many gamers that cannot afford the ps3 and sony knows this especially in lower income familys it really is a shame that nintendo decided to continue to produce games and accessories because stores will not carry the new accessories especially target stores where they are trying to unload gamecube stuff left and right and sell more wii stuff and it gets worse but hopefully sony will learn there lesson and lower the ps3's price tag because lets face it if they dont sony will be going out of bussiness soon and we will see another dreamcast type faliure again

well you at it like this this could have almost doubled 360 sales if they gave a damn (if it had no hardware issues and ful BWC)

think about it 50-100% more sales...it boggles the mind when you sit down and add it all up.

the ps3 is having so many issues it boggles my mind as to what they are doing.....

they are already planning to remove full PS2 word wide to lwoer the cost of it...

but that aside the PS2 is a movement even sony can not stop all at once,it will thrive well however......the ps3 is made with such contempt for the consumer I cant really gauge much in the short term other than poor.

Long term the PS3 shoudl do alright as long as devs don't get pissed at them and jump ship and I mean the Jp focused devs however if these devs fail to release translated titles that will spell the end of the "PS3" and it will become like the DC a solid but poorly support(world wide) console.

I think the native BD support has put them in a bad spot in terms of how far they can reduce the price point of the ps3. And until there are more game sales out there to help compensate for this it may have put them in between a rock and a hard place.

Of course according tho them sales are phenomenal, the campaign has been more than an expected success and things are going just as planned. Perhaps they are taking the long term approach. Milk the system for as much money as they can for as long as they can before dropping prices. Perhaps they figure they had a good initial release this last christmas and by next christmas the price of manufacturing would have come down and they can have a great 're-release' of sorts when they drop the price for the holiday season.

Hard to tell what those guys are really thinking lately.

sadly their long term approach is handicaping and harming the PS3 maybe thier will be enough back lash for the PS2 hardware removal for people to cause a fuss ,it made them put HDMI back in.
