The porn industry wants to curb internet piracy

The porn industry wants to curb internet piracy At a conference of porn producers, attorneys, and other prominent industry figures, discussions were held on reducing the rampant piracy faced by the industry today.
Even though porn piracy has been rampant on the internet for years, and some would even say the porn industry was the driving force in technological innovation for years, falling sales have led the industry to look for a way to stop unauthorized sharing of their videos.

According to attorney Greg Piccionelli, "The lack of enforcement over the years has left the pirates and consumers with the impression that copying and stealing adult content is something that has absolutely no punitive consequence associated with it whatsoever, and so the industry has really sort of dug its own grave to this degree."

Despite sounding a lot like more mainstream media companies, whose only thought in the beginning was to solve piracy problems with DRM, Piccionelli doesn't believe that's a legitimate solution. "I worry about [the producers] coming up with DRM or technological solutions, because they're not going to work," he said.

I did the same thing. Something ironic about pirating a movie called pirates from a site called Pirate Bay...

The porn industry will have a hard time trying to control all of their rampant piracy, there is so much more of that (porn) out there than MPAA and RIAA material.

Porn boys should call Media Defender!

Porn is going to die soon? Am I hearing this right? Unless you guys are 8 years old or 80 years old, I don't think porn is going away any time soon. Porn accounts for a large amount of web traffic and spending. The medium of buying dvd's may be a thing of the past, but its traffic on the net is more widespead than ever. Porn will never die as long as it is legal in this country.

Porn's been around as long as hookers. They go hand in hand so to say. I'm sure it will be around for these next 2000 years if humanity is? LOL

Porn should be required to watch when you are a teenager. Thats how everyone learns how to have sex.

I would say buying porn is a thing of the past and well having DRM protection maybe a good thing it will help us fight the battle of STD's and STI's :P

Please ensure you defrost that chicken first. You don't want to go to casualty and try to explain frostbite of a certain part of your anatomy, especially in the summer.. har har..

Porn has been about longer than writing.. the oldest artworks known are a little more than rude in content. I don't think it will ever go away as long as men like "amusing" themselves at home alone. hahaha.. I can speak from experience.. Both my husbands liked a good pull from time to time.. I didn't mind, it left me some free time to do interesting things instead of watching football or some other shite. usually they would slope off furtively, do whatever they did and then go to sleep.. cool..

Speaking for myself.. I prefer hentai, but a well made bit of porn doesn't go amiss when I'm in the mood for looking at some virile young men. I don't buy it mind. you tend to get strange looks in those kind of shops.

Speaking of which heres a really funny true story..

A few years ago a girlfriend was working in a local "private shop" (301 St Georges rd, Bolton) and as it was on the way into town I used to drop in for a coffee and a chat from time to time..
One afternoon we are laughing at a new consignment of dolls when an old man comes in.. selects a couple of magazines and comes to the counter..
"I've been coming in here 40 years man and boy" he announces, to which my friend replies
"so you have always been a wanker then?"

result.. I nearly choked, and the old man went a pretty red colour.. never saw him again.

As long as CHINA is in software sales ; the porn industry doesn't stand a chance .

1618.9.2007 17:22

Porn isn't going away any time soon. I think if they don't want it pirated then they shouldn't make it.

And not all porn is lame, the bang bus is pretty damn funny if you ask me. Even if it isn't real.

Pron is not making the money they had in the past because they are selling copies to rentals stores. When you rent people don't pay the full price so on 1 rental 100 people watch it and the stores get basic $20.00 per copy for the movie to rent and yes thats why they are losing money not from pirates. I see more regular movies on sites for downloading but very few porno's. Now they have to get in on the crying game..

The courts in the USA will not do anything as they would be glad to see the porn industry go down the tubes without having to fight them in the courts. The porn industry needs to hook up with the finnish parlment; they should get along famiously. ONE OF THESE TIMES fINLAND will realise there're trying to run things as they did 500 years ago. Maybe they would get along with IRAN and the rest of the middle East. Maybe they should join the Republican pary in the USA. I can't say anymore' I might find myself living in HELL! ha,ha

If 'sales' are lower now, perhaps the reason is that someone only needs a camera, and a 'subject, to turn one out .. !!

These people/companies openly brag about 'turning one out in an hour' .. !!

'No Skill Requred (for cameraman or subject)'is more likely to be the problem, not pirates .. :D

Procode ..

lol, so true, porn were the first movies made back in the 1890's

It wasn't till 1905 or around there that a churchy poly decided that smut palours and magazines should be banned.

Look at Japan it's illegal to own porn yet their shops hide the un-censored jap porn from forginers to make it look like porn doesn't exist there.
