Simply the best Antivirus around and it's completely free! This program is absolutely the best antivirus I have ever used, along with its great detection (refer to AV Comparatives for that one) and light speed. PS: It doesn't only have a month's license. The license is automatically extended every four weeks before the license's due date has come.

Always gets top ranking for detection and response rate. Very light footprint, nice interface, good scheduler, and it has built-in rootkit scanning and removal. First class product! NB for ZoneAlarm users: Avira will show up in the firewall as constant traffic from the "AVguard" component on the loopback adapter. Don't worry - this is normal behaviour, and quite harmless!

This has been a solid antivirus software. I load it on my computers and on my clients. It does a nice job catching viruses, and does not use up close to the amount of memory that McAfee and Norton use. I just don't like the daily popup to upgrade, but the software is free. Dave

I have been using AntiVir XP for a very long time now. It is an Excellent product and I would recommend it to anyone needing virus protection. Please note: I do not have Windows XP SP1 or SP2 installed. PC won't reboot after installation of SP2 because of the BIOS. There are no upgrades for my Motherboard BIOS. So far AntiVir XP is running fine and has caught all viruses that might have crept in. Jimmy.
