CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system, allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history.

Currently CCleaner can clean up atleast the following software: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows, Windows registry and a long list of 3rd party applications.

Notice! F-Secure anti-virus, Kaspersky anti-virus and possibly other anti-virus software as well, gives a false positive report on CCCleaner. For example F-Secure incorrectly detects Malware/Win32.Trojandownloader.Zlob in the installation package. The installation package is clean. You safely can use CCleaner. F-Secure and Kaspersky are aware of the problem, and have reported to fix it in a "future update".

yes must say this great proggy does all what it says on the tin and much more used it since it first came out from day 1 ..just got to tick the right boxes for you start. so you dont delete what you dont want to ..i also used the tools starup to do some tweaking.

Deletes temporary files way better than windows disc cleanup. it will even overwrite the stuff it deletes so you can make it really secure. cleans the registry fast and allows you the option of backing the registry up before you change anything. you can customize what you want it to clean or don't want it to clean. all in all its a great program and, ITS FREE ALL IN ALL A GREAT PRODUCT, AND ITS FREE

Easy to use. Fast. Effective. I always use CCleaner after installing and uninstalling things. It keeps my registry clean and my PC running fast.

One of the best freebies around. Set it clear your internet traces and your recycle bin at system startup and also the security level you require and you're done or run it at any time. Unlike other free file shredders this one also scrambles the file name. You can also clean your registry and other activity traces on your computer, unless you're advanced user be careful with some settings as you can potentially clean windows system files and render you system u.s. It works great with freeing up some wasted space and helps you clean your registries(which is for if you know what your doing).

This has been the tool that I have been looking for!!!Works way better then Windows cleaner, and much faster too. I only downloaded the stable version, never have much luck with betas. I highly recommend this tool, I haven't experienced any crashes with computers nor conflicts with my Kaspersky anti-virus. It also uninstalled this one piece of software that has been bothersome for months!!!!

PC Maintenance with two clicks: 1. Clean temps, history, cookies, IE temps, etc.; 2. Clean Registry, with enough default options (be careful changing defaults!). Before CCC I used several other packages, such as: TuneUp, WinWasher, MS Disk Clean, etc. CCC does a better job alone, than all others combinmed! I hope that donations would help its wonderful creator polish, advance and improve this wonderful tool! Hats off, CCC!

This announcement caught my eye on the product homepage: "False virus warning The latest download is being incorrectly detected by Kaspersky as a virus. This is a false detection and we're working with Kaspersky to resolve the issue. Thank you."
