TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features:

Features:

Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.
Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.
Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.
Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.
Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.

I've been using TeraCopy 2.05 for some time now, and even if I haven't got to compare the speed with XP's copy / replace function, this friend certainly has a few functions I highly appreciate: Hitting a file with the same name, it gives you the possibility to rename, instead of a simple yes or no option; I'm meddling a bit with game mods, and not once or twice have I been grateful for the option "Replace older files only" - a plain yes or no would simply not do and, as it may be several thousand files... checking dates for each individual file would cause, if not a headache, probably more severe mental damage?! I just copied a whole game, nothing illegal, I have the CDs, and out of more than 9,000 files only a couple hand fulls were copied - "older only". I'd say it's a pretty smart and precise program. And the whole business took ~20 seconds? I was amazed. I use it, I like it, I definitely recommend it. It's a great improvement to Windows (XP at least), I sure hope the brains that gave us this, would give us a search function too - they must have the capability. Btw, the speed is good too. No complaints.

I've been using Terra Copy (free) for a long while and I consider it indispensable. Hey, if you're moving a single picture from downloads to "My Pictures" then this thing isn't needed. But, If you're copying 250gigs of movies from a USB connected HD over a network to the third drive on another machine then you simply cannot live without this! If you just consider the error handling it's worth it's weight in gold but it does so much more. It's faster, It's visual, It doesn't fail, it gives a detailed report, it works with the NORMAL Copy and Paste functions of Explorer. Enough good things cannot be said about this program.

The feature set looks good. Unlike with most copy apps, if you're copying multiple files, TeraCopy will not quit if it comes upon a file that cannot be copied. It will simply note that the file could not be copied, and move onto the next file. I've been attempting to use the portable version of this app for a few weeks, but to no success, which is the reason for the average vote.

This is an excellent piece of software! I just have the free version but it's leagues better than the built-in cut/copy/paste mechanism that comes with Windows. Also, this replaces the cut/copy/paste mechanism built into Windows when it's used so you don't even have to change the way you use those features to utilize TeraCopy. 5/5 - Extremely recommended!

Great little app,i've been using the free version for around 6 months & am most happy with it,start a transfer & if there's another batch to be moved they're opened in another copy window & will start when the first batch is finished or just hit the "start now" button,it can be also turned off if need be,best of all if a file can't be transferred it will automatically skip it unlike the windows dumb ass copy utility,pause & restart work well
