i forgot to say in my last post ,,,,im using bitcomet 1.07 ,,,ooops lol
I have used many a torrent program but this one seems to be the best yet,,,,,i didn't have to configure it too much and all my downloads have been seriously fast so far, i have even tried to download the same torrent with 2 programs at once and bitcomet always gets the job done faster than any other,,,,,,,,,wouldnt go back to any other program now,
It is a good client. Its just not excellent though. Some of its features have little issues. A couple updates back there was a virus attached to it. Some of the tool-bars are just not necessary. I would stick with utorrent.
Um, yeah, excellent, but kind of uneven. I used BC 0.60 for the longest time because the 0.8x releases were sooo much slower (though I could never figure out why). Now I'm using 0.96 and it's as superb as BC has ever been--it's good to see it return to its proper form. It's a great bittorrent client and its AntiArp and tracker downloads are added extras (I would say downloading and running their AntiArp software is a must for anybody running any BT client). Choose this or uTorrent, you won't go wrong--though BitComet seems to work better without fiddling around with the settings.
This is a best torrent downloader i have ever found on net...I like this software.....
I keep switching between BitComet and uTorrent. Right now it's 30/70 for me with uTorrent coming out on top. BitComet just doesn't work as well as uTorrent for me.
This app is the best torrent client i have used so far i have moved from utorrent to bitcomet and i did not even have to configure this program it is a great program for beginners starting off in torrents and experienced users that cant be bothered configuring :)
much slower than v0.85 and 0.86,,i won't be bother to upgrade...
Is there a way to disable the annoying recommend window option in Bit Comet, I mean the lower one?
i don't know what happen now bitcomet getting slower v85 was way better.
if you want to get in trouble with your girlfriend/wife, use .86. It forces ads for singles websites with mostly naked women depicted. It also tries to get you to download deep throat. Even if you change the size of the frames/windows, it will reset itself and she will think you are doing something you shouldn't be.
Great client, the only one I can get any kind of downloads above 10kb per second with.
Best one I've tried (but I get pretty confused with the set up on these, and port forwarding doesn't seem to do anything...)

This isn't bad but it cant hold a candle to uTorrent.
Its a nice client, well designed but a lot a trackers are banning it because it doesn't report correctly and it often tries to leech.
I have been using BitComet for two years now and find it to be one of the best BitTorrent clients around at the moment.
Best torrent client out there. Period. No spyware. Clean. Fast. Simple to use. Excellent download speeds. Updated regularly.
Good for searching Torrents but Azureus does a better (and faster) job of downloading.
this is the only torrent client i use its perfect........does anyone know how to not connect to a shit load of peers/ips.....cuz at my school i am only allowed to connect to so many ip adresses before it thinks i have a virus

Biot comet is the best torrent tool ever.
haven't used comet for a while cause all i hear is bad reports about it ..that is cheating and not sending correct data info to tracker, and if ,like me you only use private trackers then dont use bitcomet..use utorrent ..its better all round.

i had a look at it and it looks as confusing as crap, where is the gui ? and where do you select open torrents ? man is this wacked or what, if yu think im dumb please explain to me how to use, cos i just wanna be able to use it like the previous versions of bitcomet but find myself unable to cos i dont know how to work it ?

Yes! You should update for reg'd trackers. it now features DHT disabled!
So you can have youre registered tracker ratio's accurate, features preview so you can watch while downloading..!

is it recommened to update from 0.60?
special for older pc's [mine pc is almost 6 years old] is this the best choice ,it use not so much cpu as azureus ! and it's now a very stable program [bitcomet 0.60]

This is, in my opinion, the best bittorrent client out there. It has a clean interface and has the speed i'm looking for.
Most of all, it doesnt take as much ressources as azareus does. One of the reason is it's coded in c++!
With peer-exchange / DHT support it is really one of the most versatile bittorrent client
I tried the preview after installing. Can anyone explain to me why you have to be downloading at 100kb or higher to preview a video file when you have 50% already downloaded.

Bit-Comet is user friendly, Yes, but the (new) drivers caused a system crash in the middle of a download.
To know if you have the same risk here are some specs:
I run a P4-2.8 Ghz with 512Mb MEM, WinXP SP2 (this could be the problem), MSI Motherboard with build on Realtek AC'97 soundcard. Browser IE6.0.
Under these conditions Bit-Comet is not stable.
But it's still 1 of the best BitTorrent clients i know.
Bit-Comet is very user-friendly like Azureus. It has many options to choose from.
Bit-Comet, however, does not take any CPU, unlike Azureus, which takes 87% of CPU and nearly 3 times as much of Mem usage.
Final thoughts: For more options, use Bit-Comet or Azureus. For more memory and CPU to play games and watch DVD movies, use Bit-Comet or ABC. Since Bit-Comet is in both categories, Bit-Comet is right for you.
