Here's another eye candy -filled MP3/digital audio player. Quintessential Player is not just about looks though; besides all the normal functions of a common digital audio player, it has many new features not seen in other players before, such as the quick track option - a fast way to find a song in a big playlist. The skin support is great too. An internal skin browser makes it very easy to search, download and install skins. No need to mess with files and archives. CDDB-queries are also supported very well indeed. A popup window appears filled with info about the song/album currently being played. This option can be disabled if you find it annoying :)

Quintessential Media Player v5.0

I have loved this software since 2003. During one of my computer and OS changes, I discovered that QMP had vanished! Now, it is back!
I remember doing a multitude of things with QMP. Changing & deleting metadata tags, playing with visualizations, renaming / renumbering my tracks MY way, and oh-so much more.
One small, but dearly important, drawback for me is the utter lack of skins for the player. Even tho all the download sites talk about the multitude of skins available, I cant find them.
But, I am truly thrilled that my best & favorite media player, QMP, has made a resurgence!! YAY!!!

Very good media player indeed. Fast and stable, small memory footprint. Media library as good as any, much better than WMP. True freeware - no nag screens or feature limitations. Extraordinarily good streaming radio support, including both IceCast and ShoutCast full listings. First rate sound, attractive interface. First really credible challenger for Winamp!
