GimpShop for Mac OSX v2.8.4

One of the most popular and powerful free image editing apps is GIMP. Unfortunately, its user interface doesn't follow the usual pattern of other applications, consisting of a number of floating panels rather than a single, unified program window. It?s very much an interface you will either love or hate.

The reasoning behind GIMPshop is that you like the power of the GIMP, but you want it wrapped up in a more familiar user interface. It basically takes advantage of GIMP?s open-source technology to produce a version of GIMP that will appeal more to Photoshop users who want to try the app without having to learn a whole new interface.

Due to the GIMP interface changes found in GIMPshop, many tutorials for the popular Photoshop can be followed in GIMPshop without modification, and others may be adapted for GIMPshop users with minimal effort. One of GIMPshop's differences from standard GIMP, in addition to the menu layout and Photoshop naming conventions, is that it adds a background window to the user interface. This background window causes significant bugs in the Windows version, and often causes windows to gray out or become unresponsive.

Be careful with the install wrapper, accept the first, but decline the other software options.
