XSoftware's Video Vault updated and reviewed

13 June 2005 11:35 by Jari Ketola | 5 comments

XSoftware's Video Vault updated and reviewed The video Transcoding and DVD backup tool Video Vault has been updated to version 3.0.0.149. The new version includes DVDXpress' one-click DVD backup functionality making Video Vault one of the most versatile DVD archiving tools.

With X Software's Video Vault users can convert video from various sources (including DVD and downloaded files) to formats suitable for viewing on PC, PDAs, Portable Video Players and a number of other devices. At the time being Video Vault supports the following formats: DivX, WMV, ASF, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DVD, SVCD, VCD, VOB, AVI, MS-DVR, WMA, MP3, MPEG1 Layer II, WAV, PCM, LPCM and AC3.

We have also published a review of the software which is available now at:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/video_vault_review.cfm

Video Vault does not contain CSS decryption, but the review shows how to first copy the contents on HDD using DVD Decrypter prior to backing up or transcoding the DVD.

The trial version is available at:

and the full version can be purchased at ShareIT.

This will only work with XP? I am on 2000 SP4 because I like it's stability (the origianal DXCv.1.5.2.[never trusted Platinum], CloneDVD2, and AnyDVD are the only loaded softwares on my backup-only box)

Anyone know if it will work for me?

Yeah. It works.
I've got Videovault v3.0.0.0160, and AnyDVD v5.4.1.1.
It's a good combination, especially because AnyDVD decrypts on-the-fly and that saves time. Of course you could use DVD Decrypter first, to remove the protection.

Will AnyDVD work with the PSP version of VIDEO VAULT when copying movies?
