I used to use Winamp, and I recently switched to foobar2000. In my opinion, foobar2000 is the better app in terms of flexibility, and it's a little less resource hogging than Winamp. Glad to see that Winamp is still dominating as a good music player though.

Still the best, most useful all round media player, despite such a credible challenge from Quintessential. Winamp just goes on quietly getting better and even more solid. Lovely flexible intuitive interface, plug-ins for just about any format out there, peerless streaming radio, and still, I think, the best library and playlist integration around.

Unfortunately, you MUST update it if you want to continue using it as several severe security flaws have been discovered in the last year and some are actively being exploited by hackers. It's good software. I don't like all the extra junk that's included but at least they offer you the option to not install anything you don't want, which is quite considerate.

i have problems with winamp all the time, it miught b bcuz i have about 230 songs/vidoes in one list, and it doesn't have a dependant area to recieve songs from, u use the browser tool in it to find the song or w/e u wan to be in the list, that's y i hate windows media player, but it's the only program so easy to use to make a playlist and add/alter itany suggestions from newhere else, and i agree with thebox he likes the eque option, that rox

i've never had issues with any winamp versions. i hate foobar because it looks too much like a webpage and it doesnt have the context menu option "Enque with ?" like winamp does.

I have had no problems with ANY WINamp builds. I really enjoy getting on the ess streams and watching some old tv shows...not to mention free porn :)

Pop_Smith- Maybe? There's no maybe about it at this point. I use Winamp for my streaming listening/viewing and for all the video file types it will support. If you want a lightweight very powerful audio player that does not try to "phone home" to AOL (or anybody else) try Foobar 2000.
