German police raid homes of private tracker admin According to a press release by the German anti-piracy agency GVU, German police have raided the homes of six men accused of running a private torrent tracker.
Two of those arrested were alleged administrators, and the other four were uploaders accused of renting seedboxes to distribute the unauthorized movies, game, music and software.

The GVU release says the raids netted seven computers, eleven HDDs and over 870 CDs and DVDs. Overall however, the tracker seemed to be pretty small, and only had 2000 members while tracking just under 1000 torrents.

Members and other readers of the release have speculated that the site was targeted because they offered users 30GB free leech for 15 euro a month, thus making them somewhat of a "pay site."

And that is why they were busted...bc the govt wants its cut. The govt has been the major thief in this arena for the last 100 years. Income taxes, gift taxes, death taxes, etc.

If you hit it big and win the lottery, the govt takes 50% of the winnings. I think they have outlived their usefulness.

It's ironic there's an advertisement for Front Sight: Firearms Training Institute on this page, what with all the anti-government comments and all. hehe

The dreaded POLIZEI in DEUTSCHLAND are the very same type of thugs you watch in Schindler's List--in 1996, after realizing THEY CAN TAKE ANYTHING, and need NO WARRANT, use biting ROTTWEILERS long before Abu Ghraib, and shout out all kinds of vile filth, over alleged Vietnamese "Zigaretten Schmuggler" (They ALWAYS attack Asians, especially Vietnamese, for smuggling cigarettes)"Schwarzfahrer" ( a "black rider" is someone who rides the S-bahn TRAM without paying ) or China Restaurant "Inhaber" using dog-meat in their receipes) and other over-exaggerated non-violent "crimes", I came to Amerika, where only a total idiot, like Eliot Spitzer, Chris Brown, Mike Vick, or Governor Sampson of South Carolina can get "in trouble" and find a way to sweet talk their way out of doing "big time", and still be on Larry King Live! Germany is THE VERY SAME way it was in 1937! When you get off the airplane at Frankfurt Flughafen there is this huge CONFEDERATE flag everywhere, and you get the sense that it's an extremely right-wing state with laws being enforced by the old East German Stasi, who merged with the unification of East and West. In the airports, the POLIZEI can confiscate ANYONE'S lap-top or cell phone (Handifone); they don't NEED a reason, a writ, a warrent or to be reasonable!
