Verizon to sell Galaxy Tab for $600

Verizon to sell Galaxy Tab for $600 Verizon has announced that it will charge $600 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab beginning on November 11th, pricing the tablet high because you do not need to sign up for a two-year contract to access 3G data.
Customers will pay monthly to use the 3G data, with the cheapest price being $20 for 1GB. After that comes 3GB for $35, 5GB for $50 and 10GB for $80.

Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney says the no-contract plans will remain unique to tablets (including the iPad).

"Verizon Wireless has always been committed to providing customers with the latest technology, and the latest announcements reflect that commitment to a relatively new entrant into the mobile arena -- tablets,
" adds Raney, via CW. "The data plan pricing for the tablets are reflective of how people use these multi-purpose devices, and because they are 3G and Wi-Fi enabled, customers have a choice in how, when and where they use them."

The carrier is offering the 16GB model, but it has a memory card slot which allows for expansion of 32GB.

Samsung's tablet runs on Android 2.2, has a 1GHz processor, a 7-inch multi-touch screen and dual cameras.

Yep everyone jumping on that Tab/Ipad waggon! hold on let me see if it will fit in my wallet lol. you have GOT to be kidding me lol. ok now lets talk about the pricing on the bandwidth lol wow. Sorry verizon, but $600.00 i would rather spend it on a laptop.

Let the kids have the "pads" i will keep my workhorse laptop.

I'm waiting for the lackluster sales, followed by the Samsung announcement of the Tab's overwhelming success, followed by massive price drops.

The Galaxy S phone in Korea is selling lot hotcakes... er... being given away like hotcakes. Our school had a big giveaway. Also, huge discounts are being offered to companies that get their employees to buy it. In the hometown of Samsung, gotta make it appear that the local products are favored -- no matter what the deal or discount. They're so embarrased that the I-phone has grabbed a large chunk of the market here.

I'm just waiting for all these tablets to start showing up on ebay for $100...I want one to mount in my car and connect to the stereo, and I am not about to spend $600 on it.

I hope some more tabs come out soon because these price are kind of ridiculous, not to mention people still have to pay for data plans that I'm sure they will go over and end up with a big debt to pay.

$600 for hardware that is less functional than a laptop?

This thing shouldn't cost any more than $250.

To me I think that is alot to pay for nothing
