'Anonymous' backs off their threat against Mexican cartel

'Anonymous' backs off their threat against Mexican cartel Last month, hacking group 'Anonymous' threatened to attack the Mexican drug cartel "Los Zetas."
The Zetas are notoriously violent and considered the most ruthless in the world, specializing in assassinations and beheadings in their native land.

In total, there were over 15,273 drug-related crimes in Mexico in 2010 and over 40,000 people have died in the country since 2006 in drug related violence.

Anonymous had threatened to reveal police and media members allied with the cartel, unless an allegedly kidnapped member of the hacking group was freed in the city of Veracruz.

Apparently, the kidnapped member has now been freed so the group has backed off their threats. Allegedly, the group was also sent death threats from the cartel, which many believe is the real reason for the downplay of the attack.

The Zetas has said they would kill 10 Anonymous members for every name the hacking group revealed.

You don't threaten an organization that has no rules or regards for human life.

25.11.2011 18:19

Yes you do. But then you need to follow through and not be pussies.

Right... And you would be able to without fear of consequences to your own actions?

It was stupid to threaten the cartel in the first place, they were lucky they just didn't kill that one member and be done with it.

the cartel is smart enough to realize that information is a powerful tool, otherwise they would have.

HA HA, you've got to be kidding yourself.

I more surprised that anom guy hadn't been stewed just for the fun of it and was let go.

The Zetas just killed and strung up 2 bloggers 3 weeks ago, for those bloggers saying stuff about them online, the zetas really hate news coming up about them.

(Stewing is where they get a 44gal drum chuck in oil and diesel and then throw in the body and light it up and the cooking time is based on the body weight so a 120pound body will take 8 hours to cook properly and when it comes out it's pretty much just ash including the bones as bones don't turn to ash easy, so when the cops come around if they try to pick up the body or ash it simply falls apart)

The Zetas do go into the USA and it'll only be a matter of year before they start to cruise into the US with20 30 fully armed SUVs ready to clean up the local cops and who ever gets in the way.

For now they currently go into the US in full FBI outfits to kill people in the USA.

I'd say the Anom people will be getting chased down by them as they have more than enough money to send people anywhere they need to and pay who ever they need to to get any sort of info they need.

As has been said you can pretend to hide on the net but you can't hide bank accounts, birth certs, loan details etc.

Which all have your details and locations and stuff you hang around.

They probably will kill that person but would need to let them go and then follow them and then you can get even more details about the other people.

It's really what you'd want to do to get the info required you can kill them later on once you have the right details, you could also pay other hackers to hack into the anom servers and just grab all the account details pay the ISPs for the accounts details and just round up the people and just kill them.

Quite a nice plan don't you think, the Zetas are based on army practises so that would be the logical way to get the Anom data and be able to start killing them.

I've just looked up more about this and there's far more newer news than this.

Anom apparently have this attack to go ahead and the Zetas released the person so they could pass on a message saying they will kill a family member for them.

Anonymous reported that the Zetas had posted a message to the Twitter account @pinkie1995 to threaten members of the hackers group earlier in the day on Thursday 3/11/2011.

A message on the account, which used the name of supreme Zetas leader Heriberto Lazcano, vowed to track down members of the group using their IP address.

Anonymous responded by replying on their Twitter account that their cybersecurity was too sophisticated for the Zetas.

According to a message on the @pinkie1995 Twitter account, the cartel responded, "For us, nothing is impossible."

People are going to be dead on days and weeks months it's going to be on the news for sure.

Some of the Zeta twits to Anom.

You have one saying are you trying to play with us as the Zetas do not play games.

Another

We are tracking you IP and will visit you

Another says

also remind you that we are a global organization whose members have military training

Then you have the twits up above.

I guess the Zetas will be going after Anom members now just to shut them up.

Further news

The pullback comes not a moment too soon. Los Zetas has reportedly begun hunting down the hackers. As global intelligence firm Stratfor reported on Tuesday:

We have seen reports that Los Zetas are deploying their own teams of computer experts to track those individuals involved in the online anti-cartel campaign, which indicates that the criminal group is taking the campaign very seriously. Those individuals involved face the risk of abduction, injury and death ? judging by how Los Zetas has dealt with threats in the past.

If you know Anom people you might want to let them know they could be meeting new friends soon.

And here's some mug shots of Anom members from the FBI.

That is what Anonymous does...attacking ruthless international organizations like the US Government, and the cartels that they work so hard to support.

The Los zetas aren't a government though they are a group of people who deal with problems by craving up your family in front of you for a laugh.

They put bounties on peoples heads so that gives their members more incentive to go and kill people, If one of these Anom people had 4 family members the Zetas could say $250,000 for each family member so if you have 10 guys go around and kill all 4 people they will get $100,000 each, so it's very worth while to make the kills.

With drugs being the 2nd and maybe the highest money making product in the world above guns now, they have more than enough money to pay for what ever they need or want.

Stratfor was saying they have already started to hire hackers to find anom members in the last few weeks.

I can see some youtube videos showing these anom members or family members getting killed in the next few months.

If the FBI can find Anom members quite easily how hard will it be for the Los Zetas to find them also but with the end result of these people being maimed or killed.

So...the main difference between the US Government and the cartels that their policies have created is that the US Government removes youtube videos and the cartels post them?

Well that and the govmnt will cover it up and say they just disappeared as where the Zetas publicize it .

167.11.2011 11:17

The Zetas are morons if they are going to get drawn into a petty fight with hackers. This may be the very thing that becomes their very undoing. They are not a military, nor have military training. Anon, having possibly lunatics pulled from a "global" nation now have eyes looking at them from all corners. xtago should stop looking for an anti-hero & see this for what it is.

The FBI hasn't found ANYONE from Anon. They found a couple of lackeys 'claiming' to be from Anon. If the Zetas did indeed find an Anon, then I will give them credit where it is due. Criminals will work in sectors where the law will not venture, but it is for that reason the Zetas will also have their ass handed to themselves as well. Their little terrorist tactics aren't any more frightening than any the next guys in some other hell hole country. Don't believe me? Ask a veteran of any country of your choosing. Pull that crap in his back yard & see what happens.

They get paid poorly, treated like s**t, and the average lifespan once in the group is about 5 years...of course they are morons.

Lord Russ,
Hate to pee in your Cheerios, but the Zetas are former Mexican Special Forces which were trained by US Special Forces. They are military.

Not that I want to have a tit-for -tat contest, but if that were indeed the case it would make for a bit more more predictable course of action on the Zeta's part. I.e., put them in a precarious position to be ambushed or caught if we decided if the US got involved.

One thing I know with the utmost certainty, we do not teach all we know to anyone. Especially our military assets. Just because they hung out with the one branch of the SF doesn't make them immediately qualified.

I never suggested that we teach them everything we know. That would be stupid. But then again, during my time in the Army, I've seen some stupid things. Just wanted to point out that they do in fact have military training.

I saw some wild things while I was in too. Got trained by some of the best. But then some of the best wasn't always doing the training. Seek out your weaknesses & seek self improvement.
