Ryan Cleary charged in LulzSec hacking case

Ryan Cleary, the 20-year old British student arrested last year for his alleged part in the LulzSec hacking episodes, has been charged with hacking Fox, PBS and Sony sites to steal personal information.
The federal grand jury has indicted Cleary "on conspiracy and hacking charges for allegedly hacking sites for the talent competition "The X-Factor," the site for "PBS NewsHour," Sony Pictures and others," reads the Bloomberg report.

Allegedly, Cleary and other LulzSec members would exploit security vulnerabilities in the sites of major companies to gain unauthorized access to administrative panels. Many of the sites were defaced while others were completely taken down.

Cleary was arrested last year in the UK over allegations he hacked various British music sites and law enforcement agencies.

In the PBS hack, Cleary and LulzSec posted a fake story claiming deceased rapper Tupac Shakur was actually living in New Zealand. The hits on Sony and Fox were to steal personal info.

The young adult faces up to 25 years in prison.

Wait a minute... He posted a passable, fake story, but then goes on to steal personal information? That's a HUGE leap between two crimes wouldn't you say? Not that I have access to any of those files, but I would LOVE to see these jerk treats put those two together.

That's like like saying you're in possession of a condom in a rape case, but they don't do the DNA testing. Well, OK, maybe not the best example. I mean he probably did hack the site to drop off the story. Maybe the 'personal info' would be like witnessing the rape & doing nothing about it.

Who am I fooling, rape isn't anything like stealing personal info & from what we can tell from the article - nothing was obtained. They're claiming intent. Possession is 9/10ths. So unless there's a mind police, they can all f*k off.

You all know as well as I do, if thinking, dreaming, wishing were to become a crime most continents would no be prison states. Or is that what they've become, we're just to slow in realizing it?

to prove the story fake wouldnt they have to prove tupac wasnt living in nz???
there is that many comspiracy theorys about tupac's death we dont even know if hes truely dead.

planing to commit a crime is conspiracy even if you dont go through with it.
