Xbox 8 unintentionally confirmed by Microsoft for next year A new job posting has suggested that Microsoft will release the upcoming Xbox 8 console before the end of 2013.
The job, looking for a Central Marketing Group director, says that "over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface".

While of course this could be a stretch, the posting suggests that Microsoft will release the console in time for the holidays next year, as rumored for some time now.

Sources have claimed that dev kits were sent out a few months ago to developers.

Recently, a 56-page document appeared showing off Microsoft's plans for the Xbox, as far back as 2010.

Agreed, far from confirmed.

I think they almost have to release it next holiday season to stay relevant. If you consider that the previous system release order was Wii, Xbox, then PS3 and they way things are currently progressing they most likely have a target of next holiday season. Most developers feel crippled by the Xbox's last gen tech, especially with the release of the kinect. You have no idea how much memory optimization is required just to run a kinect game...

I sort of have a clue by the slowness of some actions of Kinect. Still very entertaining for my kid and I.
