The figure reflects a 30 percent increase from December's number, which reflected a 57 percent increase from November.
Windows 7 remained the leader, although it saw a slight reduction to 44.48 percent.
Mac OS X, in all its iterations, accounts for 6.4 percent of the market, beating out the much-hated Vista at 5.24 percent.
The grandfather, Windows XP, still accounts for 39.5 percent share.
