Around 30+ changes since 8.3
v9.0 is FINALY out. A couple of months later then planned, So sorry about that.
Windows 10 has a new way on managing windows, A bug I would say but it has not been fixed since Win10 1803, The bug caused MC to lose focus after copy dialog was shown. This issues is now fixed by a total rewrite of how all the progress windows are shown and handled.
Also MC now has support for Virtual Device, and this is a virtual device that can show files and folders that are located in other places., A virtual view of the files. The benefits on this is all other features that work on files/folders on a device just works. Like showing different view mode (list, thumbnail), coloring and highlighting of files item, filtering, selection, using from script and so on. And the first thing that uses VirtualDevice is the FindFiles function. Now all searches are shown in a virtual device named RES1: to RES9: (If there are any issue you can still activate the old Search result panel in settings)

Moving single file using Drag and drop and the file was placed in a folder with the same name as the file name.
Pressing the "..." button in a lot of places only worked once. Second time it was pressed nothing happened.
When opening search with a custom command it was always opened in the right panel. Now it will respect the PANEL= option.

This is a minor release with just some minor fixes.

Over 300+ changes has gone into this release and a couple of major new features has been added.
MultiRename, Internal Picture Viewer and File Type
Management
is the largest of them.
MultiRename allows you to rename multiple files and folder using a rule based system. It will also create undo information. So that you at any time can go back and undo your renamed files if you need too.
The Internal Picture viewer support jpg, png, gif, bmp, tiff, psd and some digital camera RAW formats. Pictures will be auto rotated when viewed if picture has orientation exif information. And you can also choose to save the rotated image. For jpg pictures a lossless save operation if performed if possible. It also support fullscreen mode and slide show mode if multiple images are viewed.
The FileType management will allow you to configure what program should be used when viewing/editing or opening a files. It allows you to override the default configuration in Windows without modifying the settings in Windows it self. You can configure what program to open for a specific file type but also for a specific path.
For example you can configure it to use a special picture viewer for jpg files located at a special location. But all other jpg files will use default viewer.
Starting a program using a relative path is also supported. This is usefull if you are running Multi Commander in portable mode from a USB device.
