The second wave of DVD to DVD-R transcoding software is hitting the market. We have recently seen the preview release of CloneDVD 2, and now InterVideo has launched their next generation version.
The strengths of WinDVD Copy have been the easy to use user interface, robust design and decent encoding (or transcoding) routines. One nice thing about the product is the good VCD quality, which makes this software a very nice way to copy video material to CD-R medium. InterVideo promises improvements to all core features, including the codecs. WinDVD Copy also comes with a Divx MPEG-4 encoder.
You can download the trial version of WinDVD Copy 2 from here.DVD Copy 2 incorporates InterVideo's superior codec, which has a proven track record for quickly delivering true, high-quality copies. The software's performance is also enhanced with direct burn capabilities that saves time and enable users to copy directly from the source to a blank disc without having to buffer the video to the hard drive first.
Unique to InterVideo is the Multiple DVD Merging feature that can be used to conveniently group DVD videos of vacations, birthdays, a child's entire soccer season or other special events onto a single DVD. By designing this feature with automatic menu generation, InterVideo makes the entire process fast and easy.
The quality, speed and the convenience that DVD Copy 2 provides are complemented with a rock-solid, wizard-like interface that even a novice can use to create identical duplicates of personal videos in just three easy steps. Users simply select the source, destination (CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW/-RAM disc or hard drive) and the video output format (DVD, VCD, SVCD, DivX(R), or M-DVD). When the user clicks on the burn button, the software's powerful Autofit feature automatically determines how much compression is needed to produce the best-looking results for the output selected. With this feature, users can make copies of dual-layer DVD-Videos onto a single blank DVD without any visual quality loss. The Autofit feature can also be used with the software's support for the DivX format to fit a DVD video onto a single DivX CD.
