TMPGEnc MPEG Editor released

Written by Petteri Pyyny @ 15 Sep 2004 13:26

TMPGEnc MPEG Editor is a new product from Pegasys, the company behind the excellent MPEG-1/2 encoder, TMPGEnc. TMPGEnc MPEG Editor is basically a new version of the popular MPEG Tools toolset that is included with the TMPGEnc encoder itself.
The product offers a precise way to cut and edit MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video clips. The precision is something that many video editing freaks have been looking for -- typically MPEG videos can be cut only on the "keyframe" positions, making it impossible to create frame-by-frame cuts with MPEG material. TMPGEnc MPEG Editor achieves this by cutting the video by its keyframe position and then re-encoding only the material between the last keyframe position and the position where user wishes to cut the video.

Fully functional (with some restrictions; batch mode and projects have been disabled, etc) trial version can be downloaded from here:
