Pannacotta Army on View in Cheshire

MANCHESTER, England, September 28 /PRNewswire/ --     There is nothing more fashionable at the moment than the exhibition of
life sized soldier figures made more than 2,000 years ago to guard the tomb
of China's first emperor.

But organisers of this year's Nantwich Food & Drink Festival
(Fri 28 - Sun 30 Sept) are expecting record crowds to witness an exhibition
of different kind of soldiers - a Pannacotta Army.

A line up of over 200 miniature Ginger warriors, replicating the infamous
Terracotta army currently on display at the British Museum, has been created
not out of stone, but out of food.

Hundreds of ginger bread men wearing ancient battle dress stand shoulder
to shoulder in rows to create an edible delicacy to showcase Britain's
tastiest Festival, now in it's sixth year.

This will be the first time the army has been seen outside their home of
Cheshire Bakers, Roberts where master bakers reinvented the terracotta
warriors using sugar and spice.

While the Terracotta army is in total 7000 strong, the first 7000
visitors to this year's Festival will each receive a ginger memento to mark
this astonishing exhibit and Cheshire Farm ice cream has joined in by
creating an "Army Special ice cream" - delicious stem ginger and pannacotta
flavour.

Roberts Bakery, festival sponsors, Kellie Burgess said: "We have been
amazed at the interest shown in the Terracotta army and wanted to treat
Cheshire visitors to a private viewing, so we came up with our own idea of
the Pannacotta Army."

The Festival opens this Friday with Clarissa Dickson Wright. It features
wild food foraging events, low mileage menus, a kid's kitchen and over 2,000
samples of gourmet food available to taste throughout the weekend.
