Verizon Business Opens 'Smart Center' in Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Germany, October 11 /PRNewswire/ --

- State-of-the-Art Facility Extends Global Data Center Capabilities for
Multinational Corporations

Verizon Business today officially opened a new Smart Center in Frankfurt
to support customers with complex computing requirements in continental
Europe. The facility extends the reach of the comprehensive, high-end managed
services and managed-hosting capabilities already available to Verizon
Business' global customers.

Verizon Business' Frankfurt Smart Center enables businesses to entrust
the full management of their mission-critical business applications, Web
services, facilities, underlying IT infrastructure and IT services to Verizon
Business. As multinational companies are moving toward an all-IP environment,
the ability to outsource these critical IT functions to a third-party expert
is an increasingly crucial business requirement.

Working with Verizon Business, multinational companies are able to focus
on their own business objectives, safe in the knowledge that their
communications infrastructure is in good hands. In addition, using Verizon
Business' comprehensive managed services portfolio, overall network and
application performance is improved, and companies are better able to control
costs.

Donald Badoux, head of specialised services, Europe for Verizon Business,
said: "Our multinational customers are increasingly asking us to not only
provide their communications capabilities, but also to provide full
managed-services support. The Frankfurt Smart Center is the latest addition
to our growing number of advanced facilities across our global IP network,
which aim to meet, and exceed, the heightened requirements of our customers.
This facility complements the capabilities offered by our existing Smart
Centers around the world and, in particular, gives us the ability to provide
distributed computing capability across the continental European market."

The Frankfurt center complements existing facilities in Japan, the United
Kingdom and two locations in the United States, and is in addition to Verizon
Business' 22 premium colocation centers, which currently span EMEA, APAC and
the US. The centers support Verizon Business' managed services, which include
full monitoring and reporting for hardware, operating systems, network and
applications, as well as capacity planning and usage analysis.
