Rugby Mania Spreads to Video Games


BASINGSTOKE, England, October 15 /PRNewswire/ --     Sales of the video game Rugby 08 have been soaring as the
World Cup reaches its ultimate finale, according to research from GAME,
Europe's specialist video games retailer. The high street chain has
experienced a 255% increase in sales in the last 4 weeks.

GAME is rushing vast extra stocks of the game to stores for
the coming weekend for fans desperate to re-enact the action unfolding in
France through the eyes of their favourite players.

The game by EA Sports, has rapidly become the bestselling
rugby video game in the store group's history, selling tens of thousands of
copies as the English team have stormed through the tournament.

Tricia Brennan, GAME's Commercial Director said "Rugby fans
are at fever pitch ahead of this Saturday's final, stoked by weeks of
competition and English victories.

"It seems that everybody wants to be part of the Rugby
phenomenon, with the video game that allows fans to jump into the players'
boots for themselves literally flying off the shelves."
