Clash Magazine Hits the Perfect Ten!
LONDON, January 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Clash, the multi award-winning music magazine devoured by the 18-35 year old, culture vulture, download generation, is proud to announce that it will now publish ten issues a year - stepping up from the original six. Due to popular demand, the increased frequency follows the tremendous success through 2007 for Clash, a year of great exclusives and unforgettable live experiences, and the launch of ClashMusic.com, the new online hub of all things Clash. The latest chapter of the Clash brand extension coincides with the growth in readership witnessed throughout the last year, bucking the trend in the successes of recent music publications. Buoyed by the continuing quality of emergent sounds, the additional issues will develop Clash's dedication to new music, endeavouring to present the very best music from around the globe as it surfaces, and cultivating its renowned Ones To Watch legacy. Furthermore, there will also be ten front cover artists instead of the usual six, which means more opportunity to present international icons and musical legends to the general public. Last year's covers, bracketed by the electro charge of LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk, included indie wunderkinds Arctic Monkeys, stadium fillers Foo Fighters and the incomparable Paul McCartney. 2008 promises even more surprises and firm favourites. The new website, ClashMusic.com, currently features a selection of interviews, articles, reviews and fashion shoots from the Clash archives and also exclusive web content including daily news, new release information, reviews, features, an interactive forum and an artist directory featuring over 600 names of popular to new breaking artists featured on the site. Newly launched, the site will develop over the weeks ahead with the addition of audio, video (via ClashTV, our dedicated visual zone) and interactive galleries that allow the audience to upload and share their media, vote on content and discover the best new unsigned bands via popular vote. Amongst services also in development include: gig ticketing, integrated merchandising and a music download service in conjunction with iTunes. John O' Rourke, Publisher and MD, says: "We have achieved excellent results in 2007, outperforming the sector significantly. Having two dynamic platforms and increasing to ten issues, we can now provide much higher value with far greater exposure. This creates motivation and we are planning further expansion in 2008 through events, media partnerships and projects overseas. We now have a far broader range of opportunities to offer our clients and advertisers through events, ClashMusic.com and Clash Magazine." Clash Live incorporates the many facets of Clash's event management. Last year saw the monthly Clash Club host live sets from the likes of The Kooks and Supergrass, the bimonthly Sunday Sessions at The Lock Tavern with bands such as The Magic Numbers and The View, while larger projects included the Clash Stage at Lovebox festival, with The Bees and NYPC among the performers. The Clash Stage returned at Iceland Airwaves festival headlined by Ra Ra Riot and !!!, and back in March at SXSW in Texas with Jack Penate, The Rumble Strips and a clutch of breaking British talents. Further gig exploits in 2007 saw bespoke tours and event concepts for brand partners with Hot Club De Paris and GoodBooks among others. The increased frequency of the magazine will allow for more immediate editorial coverage and extra opportunities for commercial support. Clash's Editor, Simon Harper, concludes, "The progression of Clash follows the shift in demand of our target audience - readers demand more information and right now, and we've listened to their requests and adapted for the times. The music industry continually innovates, and Clash prides itself on keeping up and reflecting tastes and styles, so it's going to be a very interesting, if rather busy, year ahead for us. Look out for brilliant exclusives, unique content, exceptional interviews, and, as always with Clash, expect the unexpected!" http://www.ClashMusic.com Notes to Editors: Clash Music Group, which has its offices in central London, Glasgow and Dundee, publishes Clash Magazine, a multi award-winning music magazine sold in all quality newsagents across 30 countries worldwide, and organises and promotes music events through its Clash Live business.
