SEPA - Efficient and Secure
STUTTGART, Germany, February 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Cellent Finance Solutions AG has added a SEPA interface to the software
solution, S/Monitor, enabling finance institutes to monitor payment
transactions in the new European Single Euro Payments Area for embargo
breaches using the market-leading monitoring system. The new SEPA validation
is already being deployed successfully at the first major banks.
Cellent Finance Solutions AG, a leading provider of software solutions
for combating financial crime, now offers a gateway for monitoring SEPA
transactions for embargo breaches. First integration projects at HVB, HSBC,
LBBW and WGZ-Bank were finalized on time for the launch of the SEPA.
LBBW and WGZ-Bank are using the SEPA gateway (S/MGS) from Cellent Finance
Solutions, developed from the gateways for SWIFT payments, for the
integration. Both gateways feature an easily implementable interface with a
multi-level security concept. HVB and HSBC use the open architecture of the
SMARAGD software to forward SEPA transactions via proprietary interfaces.
Thomas Wild, CEO of Cellent Finance Solutions AG, emphasizes the
necessity to screen the new SEPA structures for compliance requirements: "The
conversion to SEPA has involved a considerable effort on the part of the
European finance institutes. Compliance systems must also keep up with the
associated developments," he declared when the European Single Euro Payments
Area, "SEPA", was launched at the end of January 2008.
S/Monitor was designed so that it can be integrated as flexibly as
possible in the existing system environment of the institute concerned. It is
imperative that disruptions to ongoing payment transactions are avoided
providing no conspicuous activities are identified during the transactions.
The multi-level failure-safety mechanism requires coordinated behavior at
both ends of the interface. This guarantees Cellent Finance Solutions with
the S/MGS gateway.
S/MGS is integrated in payment transaction systems using WebSphere MQ
from IBM. Specially designed adapters for procedures such as SWIFT, SEPA or
EBA hand over the interface data for the actual screening and communicate at
the interface. With the SEPA adapter, S/Monitor can now also process
transactions in the standard SEPA format, XML.
