DOTV Joins Hands with TVB
HONG KONG, February 18 /PRNewswire/ --
- Establishing TVB "Outdoor HD Corner" Network
Digital Outdoor Television (HK) Limited (DOTV), one of the largest
outdoor television media companies in Hong Kong, using the latest
high-definition display and broadband technology, held a press conference to
introduce its new project. DOTV, in association with TVB, the leading
television broadcasting station in Hong Kong, is proud to announce the
opening of the new TVB "Outdoor HD Corner" network, which will run selected
TVB program highlights across nearly 200 existing and planned DOTV locations,
including restaurants, computer centers, CD shops and shopping centers in
Hong Kong.
The Official launch ceremony was hosted by Mr. Joseph Yuen, Chief
Executive Officer of DOTV, and Mr Cheong Shin-Keong, General Manager of
Broadcasting of TVB.
Mr. Yuen said, "With the launch of high-definition television in Hong
Kong, audiences are eager to watch different types of HDTV programs. While
previously the public could only watch TVB HDTV indoors, viewing is now also
possible when they are away from their homes. I am pleased that DOTV is
working together with TVB, the industry leader, to extend HDTV from indoor to
outdoor coverage." With enhanced programming content, DOTV is expected to
generate increased interest from the public, in turn benefiting its
advertisers.
Mr Cheong said he believed that DOTV will be a successful outdoor medium
for displaying TVB program highlights in high-definition. Both TVB and DOTV
are looking forward to seeing the DOTV interactive platform transmit news,
shows and even the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics, enabling a wider audience
to watch high-definition TV programs anytime, anywhere.
