Ben Bernanke Must Commit Today, Says Sid Smith
PALM SPRINGS, California, September 17 /PRNewswire/ -- - FINANCIAL POET LAUREATE PENS FOUR BLISTERING POEMS TO TURN UP THE HEAT ON BEN AND HIS PALS This week, financial poet laureate, Sid Smith, takes time from his weekly chores at The Public Record to create four new verses roasting Ben and the FED. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070917/LAM089 ) Tomorrow marks Bernanke's first definitive F.O.M.C. meeting since he took over the reins from Alan Greenspan, months ago. Tomorrow, FED DAY, Sept. 18, '07, will be a watershed event, says Sid. Bernanke will be forced by the sub-prime meltdown, the credit crunch, and the jittery markets to unabashedly reveal how he plans to fix it all. When it comes to seeing the funny side of financial stories, Sid Smith has earned his stripes. After years of writing cautionary market verses and comments for Kennedy Gammage's Richland Report, Sid has combined 100 of his poems into a new book called MONEYFUNNIES WITH THE BULL AND BEAR that also include whimsical illustrations by London cartoonist Pete "Peeby" Betts. This week, Sid's Quartet of timely rhymes, written especially for this big event, hopes to give us a special peek over Ben Bernanke's shoulder. Here's a sample: BERNANKE'S DILEMMA Economic clouds are forming Market winds are "perfect storming." Sub-prime fears now grip the nation, But Ben keeps one eye on inflation. Will he ease to ward off trouble? Or "hold" and re-inflate the bubble. He's weighing every move he makes. Gun the gas? Or hit the brakes? The outcome, only time will tell. We have our doubts, but wish him well. Here's another taste: HEY MR. FED First it was Tech making markets seize. Then, Sub-prime loans got the Bubble disease. The latest, they say, the Liquidity Squeeze. Mr. FED, I beg you. I'm on my knees. Turn off that Bubble Machine... Please! Contact us at Sid's cell +1-323-823-4585.
