Marriages 'On Hold' as Credit Crunch Bites
LONDON, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Survey results released today (26th February 2009) show that 58% of weddings planned by couples who met through the SingleMuslim.com website have been affected by the Credit Crunch. With the average Muslim wedding estimated to cost in excess of GBP20,000 ($30,000), the website recently polled its members to find out whether the Credit Crunch is affecting their wedding preparations. Whilst 25% of respondents admitted that they will have to rein in their expenditure, cutting back on some of the costs associated with a Muslim wedding, 16% said that their plans had changed considerably. 18% even said that their wedding plans were now 'on hold' as a direct result of the Credit Crunch.
