- Stephen Brauner to head editorial team

Crain's Manchester Business has chosen a veteran North West journalist as
editor of its new weekly business newspaper for Greater Manchester. Stephen
Brauner, 46, most recently editor of the North-West Evening Mail in
Barrow-in-Furness, will join Crain's Oct. 8. "We're delighted to have Stephen
join our team here," said Publisher Arthur Porter. "His knowledge of Greater
Manchester and his business journalism background make him the ideal choice
to lead our journalists."

Brauner, 46, grew up and went to school in Manchester and was editor of
North West Business Insider magazine from 1997-1999. Since 2002 he has been
editor of the Evening Mail whilst also writing business columns. He has also
been business editor and assistant editor of the Liverpool Daily Post. "The
arrival of Crain city publications is the most exciting thing to happen to
the UK regional media in my lifetime and I am thrilled to be part of it,"
Brauner said. "Even better, it is happening in my home city of Manchester.

With Brauner joining Porter, the top two jobs at Crain's are filled by
Manchester natives. Crain's Manchester Business will be a weekly business
tabloid distributed to a tightly qualified circulation of 15,000. Crain's
will publish its first issue in December. The newspaper's target audience
will be Greater Manchester's upper-level executives and business owners.
