As for my Vista premium 32-bit, it simply works like a charm, I already encoded tons of flv or wmv to my cell phone or on DVDs. SUPER is a great application, a big thanks to all people working to keep it up and for Free!

Hi people FYI, I am running Vista SP1, 64-bit. And I have tried running it as Admin and every other Option possible and ZERO Success! I was all excited about this New Version ... may be eRight has fixed the Vista Crashing problem!!! Well, I ran one Test Clip conversion from .mpg clip to AVI with XviD codec and A-OK. But any other tries after that continually gave me CRASHES. Also, the darn program INCORRECTLY reports my Laptop's Specs ... says that I have an only a 1.0GHz CPU ... when an Intel T5750 is clearly a 2.0GHZ CPU and reports my 4GB RAM as only 1.9GB ... and flags my laptop as not set up to run SUPER. The only version of SUPER ever ran A-OK for me on my desktop with XP PRO was Version 19. But as the other Reviewer indicated eRight has put in some "DEEP" program that no matter how many times you uninstall the 200833 or any other version past Version 19 it remembers it and WON'T ALLOW a clean NEW install. Now I am not a Software Guru ... but to me that sounds like eRight is not playing FAIR or SAFE! If they are able to BLOCK us from rolling back to Older Version then is it Safe to say that their prgram might even have SPYWARE in it. I doubt eRight even gives a hoot about our comments ... as it is evident from their Progress in Newer Versions! But if they are listening ... PLEASE, PLEASE have a CLEAN UNINSTALL program. This program should get a 0 ... but 1 was the lowest score ... so ... basically SUPER STINKS to high heaven even though is FREE! G1:)

I downloaded and installed this SUPER encoder and as it's said before, you have to right click on it's icon and choose "run it as an Administrator". Decoding is pretty fast and the output is good, but I have a problem.The DVD I'm decoding has 5 Vob Files and the output of the decoder is also 5 video files. The movie is now split in five parts. Does anyone know how to output the encoding in a single file, the way the is supposed to be? Am I doing something wrong with the encoder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.Mike

Installed It took to long to install, then it wont even start Running vista ultimate, i try and try i even restart it the pc and nothing, just wont work for me.

I downloaded and istalled the software...POW...worked PERFECT the first time. I needed something to convert movies so I could watch them on my LG ENV phone. I've never used software like this before, but it was easy. I recommend it.

I use this software all the time, you just have to fine tune the settings for what you want...trial and error mostly and you can save your settings as well. Though it lacks some features you cannot complain, it's free and works very well.

Sorry folks, I rated "SUPER" very poor since I can NOT even install it on my Brother's desktop. It seems for SUPER to be installed AT ALL ... you have to be the Admin on that computer. So, my question to Author of the SUPER is why make a software freeware and then make it not to install as a regular User and not necessarily as Admin. May be they are trying ti siphon info from your computer. Anyway, after trying to run "SUPER 2008 Build 30" ... my other Stable version "SUPER 2007 Build 23" won't run ... and gives me "103 I/O Error" ... whatever that is supposed to mean. So, if a freeware is so smart to even CRASH your other working version ... in my book it is not a freeware and more like a "Spyware". And if the Author of "SUPER" is such nice people ... why not make this GUI "Portablish" ... meaning you can run it independantly ... even off of a Jump Stick. G!

not bad. I've tested other free and commercial apps and apart from a few odd audio/video synch issues, it worked OK for me. Other apps worth Mentioning : MediaC0der and ConvertHQ (neat & simple).

Ok, thats not right!!! Im getting erratic output sizes. Sizes that are not logical at all. See, Since the program doesnt have a bitrate calc, I was trying to figure a way to use the standard windows calc. Slight bumps in bitrate output caused a huge increase in output size. Anyhelp much appreciated.

Its a shame this software, atleast i dont think it has... a bitrate calculator. TO give you an estimate ATLEAST of the finished file size. Ive encoded one file 4 times and havnt found the right bitrate to use. Help would be much appreciated. Oh and it doesnt let you manually give an exact video bitrate. Only default options IT APPEARS! Maybe i havnt explored enough yet.

well... It looks like a pretty nice program. In that i mean, Lots of options, aspect, container(File Type), Codecs(ALOT of them). I am somewhat green to the encoding world. But am quite intrigued by how much a video file can be compressed while still being lossless to the human eye!!! I am running the latest version of AVG(grisoft) and NO red flags came up. Perhaps they fixed that bug. Either SUPER or AVG. I even scanned the finished installed directory. Well... off to encoding. At this point i recommend this software to anybody with atleast some encoding skills. Not as user friendly as one might think. A newbie MIGHT be intimidated by the looks of the software!! I rated this software good, but... it could go either direction in a week. We'll see.

Here are my findings for Version 24, it seems to hook the kernel also. These hooks activate whenever the program runs, when it stops then they unhook, still not fair, I think it is better said than done. The latest version is flagged by AVG as containing a Trojan Downloader. The suspect file is mencoder.exe AVG will not allow Super to open even if "ignore" is selected

This program works great only two problems i have found so far...which might just be tech settings on my laptop(any help would be appreciated). 1.I have to be running another program simultaneously be it seems to run more as a background program and my computer shuts down if i don't say watch a video while converting. 2.Recently however as soon as I start to use the program my computer automatically shuts down. Maybe its just my laptop(Fry's GQ 5330)

I had some flv files I wanted to convert to mpg. As promised a few choice were made and the program delivered a working mpg. However I did find that in order to make the program work you must be in at least 1026 x 860 otherwise the controls to encode are not displayed. The only other problem was where the output file was going. This was hidden in the right click menu. I do not see why it is not present like all the other choices on the main window.

Wonderful piece of software! As someone mentioned before, this is NOT a piece of spyware or a trojan or any type of malware. I also scanned it using several scanners when someone said it was dangerous. There's nothing wrong with it. The only thing that prevents me from giving SUPER 5 stars it that it cannot convert SWF files to another format.

This program is NOT spyware. I have tested Super with AVG, Spybot Search & Destroy, ClamWin, Windows Defender as well as several online scanners. Please read the links that you reference again. The trojan installs itself in the default system folder on a windows machine. This program installs super.exe in it's own folder completely out the windows directory.

Program won't start unless you give it access to the trusted zone and access to the internet. If this is truly just to check for updates as they claim, they should make it optional. Like giving your house keys to a stranger.

Useless piece of software. Supposedly incredibly simple to use, it would be, if it worked. Start the program up, drag and drop the file....then nothing happens. There's no 'start' button, and program automatically begins converting, it doesn't show anything to let you know. Don't waste your time downloading this.

Hi, I hope the "Developer' of this program is reading this. I downloaded this program and installed it two different times ... and somehow it crashes my other programs ... 1) My DVDShrink preview window all of a sudden looks wqashed up (the best that I can describe it). 2) It crashed my "DirectVobSub" player. 3) The "Preview" feature of the SUPER program runs funny ... the Video playback looks "Washed Up" color. Program seems to work ... like I said if they can fix up the other problems I think it would a "Great Tool". Also maybe someone can write a "Dummy Guide" for those of us that don't knwo all the proper Scales and formats. Thanks, G!

'Super' software. Haven't found anything like it elsewhere. Seems to work on any media almost. Very impressive indeed. Message to aRTynz above: On my W2K box I had headache with the menus as well, but after I changed the skin from the right-click menu it sorted itself out. So, obviously skin related. Works perfectly with another skin :-)

This software is, as claimed, all that you can't get elsewhere for money, and free. Just one thing - I have the latest version, build 19, and the drop down menus do not work properly. They do not drop down when clicked. The only way I can negotiate them is to click and then use up or down arrow and repeat this to move through all items. My system is Win-XP and is fully up to date with software upgrades. I cannot find a place to send email so this seems the only place I can mention this. Thanks.
