PlayStation Home delayed until next spring

so much for the xboxlive killer.

seems even sony are having problems coding for the ps3. has anything been released on time as it feels like everything has been delayed, and there is the good old line about "tweaking"

and its not that easy but they're going to make it work and it will be another plus to the ps3.thats the only plus i've heard from 360 people who say live is a better community well after this its over.

did i even mention the 360 no i don't think i did, surly sony being able to get it right is what you want and releasing software on time. and no more lies. console communities are for kids and kids grow up! all home is, is another dam secondlife spin-off that will be saturated with adds. go and spend some time in secondlife just to see how boring it is & thats with the ability to stream music and porn and do whatever you like which home won't as sony's copywrite police will shut it down tighter than a ducks ass, btw graphics dont make a community!

and actually getting a whole product like motorstorm instead of a half finished game then having to pay an extortionate amount for addon's when you have already spent £39.99 for the game!

A quote that many would say on the positive side.."I dont mind the delay as long as it'll work smoothly when it comes out"..sumwhere along those lines :P ..but yea lets hope so Sony because i think Home looks neat.

well atleast sony can admit there flaws unlike some companies that release products way before they are ready...

Just gives MS 6 months more to beat out Sony. And who knows how much longer after that. The Home concept sounds great. I'll convince my friend to get it since he has a PS3 and check it out. I do believe that graphics do play a big part in these online communities, although not the most important. Let's hope Home can live up to the expectations. Holding back a release to improve it would be beneficial. Holding back a much anticipated release only to find out it's crap would be bad. Very bad.

Sony is a good company (or rather, I should say, as good as could be expected) but when it comes to release dates, they seem to have a habit of biting off more than they can chew. I know that several of the most antipated games have a bad knack of being posponed (both for the PS3 and the PSP), though some believe this may be just a gimmick to hieghten anticipation and increase sales...

I know I've seen the release date of Oblivion for PSP moved back TWICE already, so I've more or less given up on it. If I see it in the Used rack of my local GameTrade, I might pick it up.

I own both consoles. Sorry but graphically there the same. But xbox 360 is much better. Downloading demos and getting hold of friends is so easy. PS3 is all ass backwards. Sony care more about blu-ray than games.

Ummm... While I beleive all the consoles are basically the same after the pros and cons are wieghed in, I would have to say that once you've upgraded your TV to something around 1080i or 1080p you'll notice dramatically better graphics from the PS3 than the 360.

Really truely, my only qualm against people posting like this in these news articles is the issue of irelevance. This is not a thread of "Battle of the Consoles" or anything of that nature. If you have something relevant to the article - yes, please post. Wow,"Home" delayed how many times is Sony going to delay.I own both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.They both are good consoles in my opinion,and I expect more from the XBox 360 since it has been out longer than the PS3.I don't think people think about how much power the PS3 really has,and we have all only seen the PS3 use a little bit not even half of its power.If you are comparing graphics the PS3 is doing way better than the XBox 360 and has the potential to exceed its current state.I'm disappointed in the game selection with the PS3,and the release dates for everything they bring out.Sony doesn't understand that they are going to keep losing sales unless they bring atleast something out that attracts customers instead of firmware updates.If "Home" is the answer,then why not push it out and see how it does.They can always improve it with an update,since you will need a good internet connection to even mess with "Home" anyways.Sony is losing money everytime they delay release dates,because all the other consoles don't seem to have this problem.Halo 3 will sell and that is what other consoles need to focus on,sure the game could be alot better but why make it better when you know it will sell already.

Delay is a good thing not bad as an example take the majority of games they're as buggy as hell too much time spent on looks rather than smoothness of play so translate that buggyness to a website and navigation that'll be buggy as, people will just not bother with it,do it once & do it right..nough said on that issue..


game selection..meh.. take another look at the 360 selection, count how many are actually exclusive not too many ay same goes for the earlier PS2 XBOX etc the games will come thick n fast soon enough for all the consoles once developers get to grips with the new hardware it does'nt happen over night usually takes a couple of years,take a look at some of the early xbox & ps2 games to the ones made 2 years later

Most people I talk to just don't like the PS3.. and they always say it has no games. I hope Sony fails with the PS3....every game that's suppose to get released are gonna get delayed..heck I wouldn't be surprised if MGS4 gets delayed again. Dunno about you but from now to December theres about 11 games Im after being released, only some of them are multi platform. Thats if none of them are delayed more, most have already been pushed back anyway.
As for MGS4 someone involved in the dev'ing (cant remember the name) said that it might even be ready for the end of 2007, but I dont think it ever got officially announced so its probably heading for early 2008 anyway along with Killzone 2 which I cant wait for.

To be honest i don't hate Microsoft i hate most of there fan base who think Microsoft is the next coming of GOD.Microsoft does the same things Sony do but Sony gets more back lash because of its rich history of making gaming consoles.EX: I ran across a site like 2 years ago that said to support Microsoft because its American made & don't support Sony because its a Japan product.I'm an American & can say thats one of the most dumbest things I've ever heard.The only thing i hate about Microsoft is how they are scared to make a commitment to a group or company other than themselves.Like HD-DVD, Microsoft can give them money to help in some area's but if you really look there not part of the HD-DVD board.So if HD-DVD looses this format war Microsoft wont have any commitment with HD-DVD other than just giving them money & they are free to jump ship over to Blu-Ray.But if Blu-Ray fails Sony fail because Sony is part of the BDA board.Microsoft always like to play both sides of the game & never make a commitment to anything,how you think they became so rich ?

you make a very good point.

I really think if Microsoft had added the HD-DVD drive inside the 360 with the price tag around 300 to 400.This would have crushed Sony by far with there larger price tag then Sony would have nothing to brag about.

Spring 2008-PlayStation Home delayed until February 2009.

All 3 have their strengths and weaknesses. but in the end it all comes down to personal satisfaction. If you don't like it you don't have to trash it for the person next in line deciding which one to get. I wasn't sure which one I would like more so I bought them all and won't get rid of any.

I agree - I own all three and love them all. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. I also get a much better selection of games by owning them all.

Why there is so much hate surrounding the console war is beyond me - let Sony and M/S fight. Trying to out do each other makes us the winners. Without competition just imagine what junk we would have and how much it would cost.

all it is, is media hype to get you participating in a room filled with advertising and micro-transactions designed just to empty your wallet.

If you want this sort of experience visit second life as at least that's funny. in home there will be limited media streaming if any, that isn't advertising unlike secondlife when you can stream any web content to other users around you and in home there defiantly won't be any porn or quirky character designs because of the demographic that home will be targeted at, the 9 to 15 year olds.

if the motorstorm rip off map pack is anything to go by home will be charging unimaginable costs for premium items that you never actually own!

No but borrowing them for a acouple months from a friend has given me plenty of insight, PS3 still has 2 huddler's to over come price and games, the 360 price V cost is still hardware issues vrs what it offers (US PC style games mostly) its not that its bad but the line up is just bearable enough to make it not worth any down time or extra cost of RMAing it.

the WII is good and probably offer more control options than pad only games on the other consoles but I would like more in game/os config options for controls for 350$.

Call me a hairy jaded loon if you must but I feel like the 7th generation has not delivered yet.

If sony can surpass the others and give gamers full control over the controls(setup pad/KB-mouse layout in the OS and sue that to run games with) then for me its worth every penny.

its not that the ps3 is bad or too expensive its just that it seems that the ps3 fanboys want the same thing as the M$ fanboys a good online service and a good game library.right now the 360 club has that and the ps3 club have to wait and they are like a bunch of spoiled brats.yes indeed the last go around they had it but now its the MS club turn and time to shine can they do this without too much hate from the sony fanboys.Hell no and i undersatand this if i paid 600.00 for a console and you paid 400.00 and have a 30% fail rate i would want mine to to have it all too.but even still with all thats going on with the 360 its still sell well in north america so it must be somthing that peolple like about the 360.can anyone tell me the answer.

And yes 3 or 4 Jrpgs dose not make he 360 less of a PC style console :P(the line up is diversifying nicely, the hardware needs a final push or too to be perfect)



I have had enough play time on all of them to see the nuances of them.

Now it dose not help I am a cheapsake who would rather pay a friend to borrow it than out right buy it and for 200$ over a year I have managed to play them and I am not "happy" with them, the 360 is a solid system with hardware issues if down time is a worry delay purchase for 6 more months(for the 65NM units to to be easier to find).

the PS3 is gettign a "core" unit at 399 by Xmas best time to tag one is then get acouple games with it and have fun, the system will finally be rocking next year with more games.

The WII is nothing sneeze at but if looks are nearly everything for you go with the others first, or wait both out and get a wii.

for em I will put 400$ into me PC and wait another 8 months before getting anything.

From what I hear the 65nm units have all but replaced the older defective systems in most stores, which is very good news.

The PS3 lineup for the next few months looks awesome, like 11 games Im after in only 3 months plus I now have decent enough internet for online play, cant wait.

I dont see why people have to have the latest and greatest graphics, I just got through the first Spyro the Dragon (PS1) game and it is right up there in my top 10 games of all time, along with several other awesome PS1 games that I still play.\

meh, keeping a PC gaming rig is way too costly, 99% of the reason I console game. Upgrades every month or so + all the hardware driver issues etc gets a bit to much for me even though I'm relatively tech savvy.

EDIT: The 360 is still 99% FPS games, you cant win a "console war" with only one genre, the 360 just doesnt cater to every audience.

I call the 360 a PC style console it might not have the control options of a PC but the games are very much like them, the 360 lacks deveristy in its line up that ontop of aging hardware will hurt it the most in the next few years, MS really needs to let people put thier own HDDs on it and let them fully use USB HDDs.....
The 65NM units have not saturated the market not ever single new 360 is one its a mix of old, hew 90nm with HDMI and 65NM on top of no SKU if you want to avoid "issues" putting it off a few more months wont hurt.

Once the PS3 core unit is out the PS3 will start picking some maybe by the end of 98 we'll have more optimized games for it, PS3 is moving up and thats a good thing.

The WII is a solid and fun system but between the controls and graphics it might turn some off.

I agree. and you know what (as a PS2 fanboy, mind the proof there), I'm all for the 360 online. I might even buy my first M$ console, but there's one thing that will never change. PS3 @Home will always be < 360 Live. No chance in Hell $ony will ever do better. They may try, but that war & all battles won by M$ long ago.
