Porn gets a set-top box of its own At the Adult Entertainment Expo, which opened in Las Vegas on Wednesday, some technology is being shown that will aid you in getting content for those nice and big flat-panel television screens shown off at CES at the exact same time. Miami-based entrepreneur Estefano Isaias is showing off Fyre, a Set-Top Box that delivers DVD-quality video content on demand. The entire catalog of Fyre is composed of adult video.
Fyre is simply connected via Ethernet to a network with a broadband Internet connection and hooked up to a TV. From there, a user can browse through a list of 20,000 titles that are already available. The device itself is free, but there are subscription options ranging from $10 to $100 per month.

For comparison, a mainstream service from Vudu Inc. offers up about 5,000 movies and works in much the same way as Fyre. The video is provided by the big names in Adult Entertainment, who get a share of Fyre's revenue from subscription fees. The content itself is protected from digital copying by use of Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology.

The Fyre service has so many videos available that it now has a comprehensive search feature that allows a user to filter results based on the "stars", the content or other criteria. If you are not the least bit interested, you still must admire how the Adult Entertainment Industry stays on the cutting edge of content delivery technology.

Fyre was originally announced in April, but is still in beta phase today.

without porn there would be no internet. The internet revolves around the porn industry. Anyone who thinks otherwise lives in a delusion. For the record I don't look at porn, but I just want to point out the obviuos.

There is an article on this on CNN. They show a picture of it. It's a small box with red glowing light. Lol....you can turn your own living room into a red light district! Not something most people would want shining over the TV when relatives visit. I'd like to hear those conversations :-P

Looks like I'm the only one with the balls to admit I love porn, and I'm *not* sick, just normal.

I guess if you're a 14 year old ubergeek who thinks "porn" is something only perverts and your mum 'n' dad do then maybe that's why you have an abnormal perception of porn/sex.

now only a guy who is ADDICTED to porn would want that thing on his TV

Embrace the madness! The guilt only lasts for about an hour afterwards and food tastes much better during that period! So it's a nice trade off.

But watch those carbs.

Addiction to anything is bad. Porn addiction occurs when the person
fails to get himself a decent partner or has inferiority complex.

For those desparate people out there this is the next best thing to a real girl or a VR girlfriend. A HD girlfriend would be what the is in order however it really wont help them with what the real issue they have here.

i cant send you a postcard, but Yeah Porn is something you do when you don't have other options, but you DO have other options for the rest of your life dont you? and even then putting so much emphasis on something like SEX and LUST would be ADDICTION otherwise you wont need SET-TOP BOXES for that, its prolly already avilable on demand.

Couldn't have said better myself.

I've got a healthy sexual appetite too. Very healthy. And it's a Porn-less procedure for me, and most of the people i know.

B/S is B/S.

If you were in jail, i could understand the need for porn as opposed to the only other alternative.
