Set-Top Box

The term Set-Top Box (STB) refers to a piece of hardware that delivers an SDTV or HDTV signal. A set-top box may be an analog Cable Television receiver, digital cable or satellite television receiver/descrambler/decoder box, or even an IPTV client of some kind.

Set-top boxes may also be called Set-Top Units (STU).
