ComReg

ComReg (Commission for Communications Regulation) is the electronic communications regulator in the Republic of Ireland (ROI). It oversees the television, radio, wireless and postal delivery networks.

It is the responsibility of ComReg to protect and inform Irish consumers to ensure that they can make effective choices on which services they avail of and that these services and service providers meet set standards and adhere to relevant acts associated with the industries.

They also serve as a means of support during times of dispute between customers and their service providers.

ComReg enables competition in the communications sector by regulating access to networks so as to aid entry into the market. It works inside a regulatory framework set down by the European Union based on principles of technological neutrality.

The regulator also takes on a role of promoting competition and encouraging innovation in the electronic communications industry.
