Time to Live

Otherwise known as TTL.

TTL is a term for the mechanism that limits the lifespan of data in a network.

It is part of the Internet Protocol and TTLs start when a ping is sent to a server, or another computer.

The TTL then considered the amount of times the request can travel before it will come back as an error.
