IBM 8514

IBM 8514 was a computer display technology unveiled around the same time as the Video Graphics Array (VGA) standard, developed by IBM. It supported a display resolution of 1024x768 (at a lower refresh rate of 43.5Hz though), or a display resolution of 640x480 (60Hz). The 8514 is often credited as being the first PC mass-market fixed-function accelerator
