TPB wants Demonoid in Sweden

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 16 Jan 2008 11:56 User comments (40)

TPB wants Demonoid in Sweden It has been nearly two months and the once very popular torrent site Demonoid is still on its extended period of downtime. The infamous torrent site The Pirate Bay however, has recently offered two brand new servers to the Demonoid crew, in Sweden.
It has been unclear since December whether Demonoid would ever return but tens of thousands of users became hopeful when the founder of the site said he was looking for a new location to host the site. “Money is an issue, but the real problem at the moment is finding a suitable place to host the website. There has been no luck there. And there’s some personal stuff I need to take care of that takes most of my time at the moment, and that does not help,” he added.

Brokep, one of the admins of TPB recently said in an interview that he hopes Demonoid will make a comeback and has claimed to have two new servers already waiting for them if they choose to. “We tried to contact the guys behind Demonoid and we’ve set up a tracker for them but they haven’t responded. But, we have two servers running for them if they want to set it up.”

Thats pretty damn noble of TPB. Since the 'Noid went down TPB is the only reliable place for torrents that I can find (and even then its spotty).

I miss 'Noid, I loved the community, Im occasionally on the forums, but it was more fun to talk on the regular site.

I am Dustin..you may know me as "One of the guys that you got this interview from"

It isn't like it was copyrighted or anything like that, but first of all I wrote that interview with Peter, and we had to get up early as hell in order for us to do it, the very least the author of this article could do it link to the source which was our techcast...it is a very new project of ours and the exposure definitely wouldn't hurt us

So anyways, below are 2 links for methods of getting the original .mp3 version of the entire techcast (featured interview with Peter Sunde) thanks

The megaupload version may be buggy, the torrent tracked by TPB is very well seeded at the moment though and should download relatively quick, thanks again -- Dustin

I had only just begun to use Demonoid when it went down and I was a little heartbroken ;)
But it's nice to see our friends up at The Pirate Bay working on restoring Demonoid. I sure as hell hope they open up this and it doesn't end up cancelled like bOiNK.

Well I haven't heard anything officially so it's probably not true.

3513.2.2008 14:50

Just appears just trying to be what Demonoid was.

I can't imagine that Deimos would announce it as they would just target the site again, trying and take it down. I assume he would keep it on the down low.

Well at least they know they have friends in the communtiy that has been looking out for them and is prepared to make coming back as smooth as possible.

Demonoid is back! Demonoid, once one of the most popular BitTorrent trackers, has reappeared again, this time hosted in the Ukraine.
