ZTE pays £20 to license Windows Phone

ZTE has let it slip this week that it costs £20 ($30 USD) to license Windows Phone 7, far more than previously assumed.
TrustedReviews came with the news after being told by Portfolio Manager for ZTE UK, Santiago Sierra at the UK launch of the ZTE Tania.

Android, on the other hand, costs $0 to license, but Microsoft has their hand in that cookie jar, as well. The software giant receives license royalties from 70 percent of Android handset makers, taking between $5-$15 for each device sold.

Most notably, Microsoft receives payments from Samsung, LG and HTC, three of the largest smartphone makers in the world.

Why is the author of these articles so slanted against Microsoft? This isn't the first time I've seen this either. Stop it. A good journalist doesn't pick sides, he/she reports on whats going on.

Microsoft has had patents for decades, same with Xerox, Sun, Nokia, Motorola, and 100's of other tech firms that have a part in mobile and computer technology. Microsoft and Google are in a business to make profit. Both give away a lot of free services. Stop trying to make MS look 'evil' as we all know all big corporations are evil.

Back up your point. There is NOTHING here slanted. I'll wait.

It doesn't matter.
Microsoft missed the boat.
Like Kodak, it's too slow to capitalize on the advance of progress.

Google made a blunder in basing Android OS on Linux. I thought they were smarter than that.

What they should have done is go for BSD (like Apple)and both M$ phone AND iPhone would be dead !

It is still not too late !
