Windows 8 upgrades hit four million in 3 days

Steve Ballmer provides some figures.
The Microsoft chief had previously told of strong demand for Windows 8 (stronger than Windows 7 saw, apparently) since the new Windows revision was released to the public on Friday.

Today, Ballmer revealed that the company has sold four million upgrades for Windows 8, which suggests that there is indeed strong consumer demand for the product, despite some other reports suggesting a more muted reaction to Microsoft's flagship OS.

Ballmer told a meeting of software developers at the company's HQ that "hundreds of millions" of Windows systems will be sold in the next year, and that strong interest has been shown by business users.

Then you must not be a tech or one whom craves tech because true techs and network peeps just CRAVE new technology and would love to give this a try...........OR ANY NEW OS for that matter.

Yet all you people just keep bitching about Win8. Looks, it's nothing more than just a new START menu. So man up, pipe down and make us techs look good by giving it a try.........

Oh.......and learn German while you're at it......"kwicherbichin"

I want to know why Microsoft decided against being able to right click on a file to be able to scan it with security essentials. If Microsoft really wanted people to scan for virusus they would have included that option.

What a bunch of crap. The new OS sucks unless you can forego the Metro nonsense but then it is just a modified 7, barely better at best.

Man up, what a joke!

Is this not that same quote unquote News they released when Vista was released. And still to this day they will not admit Vista's failure. I believe any numbers we see from Microsoft are going to highly massaged. Their only hope is that people get that technology is leaving me behind, feeling because so many other people are upgrading to Windows 8. While else would anyone want to move to such a restrictive OS environment. Microsoft has made enough developers mad with their whole new development path for programmers. We are to the point everything can be done just as good or better on Linux. No third party developer that has a decent budget writes to Linux and that is the problem with that OS. Here is hoping someone will now, because I am ready to part ways with Microsoft. It is obvious to Microsoft that computer users are to dumb to know what they want to use. So they give us something we don't want and tell us it is good and everybody else is using it, Why aren't you?

oh your just the 8 grand master aren't you? I am tech and I have to say...that the 8 is nice, BUT what is bothering people is the fact that if in a hurry they have to train them selves the new 8 into their head that is all...once you figure out the NAV part it gets easier to use each day...I spent 6 months on this and it is the speed of getting where you need to go fast...so you quit bitching and let it be. We have the right to be bitches and what ever else we want to be...danka.
