Snapchat tells minors to stop sending nudes

Snapchat has updated their "Safety Center" community guidelines, imploring minors to stop sending nudes.
As part of the 'Parent's Guide to Snapchat' in the Safety Center, the photo sharing and messaging app posted the following:

"Keep it legal: Don't use Snapchat for any illegal shenanigans and if you're under 18 or are Snapping with someone who might be: keep your clothes on!

What not to Snap:

Pornography
Nudity or sexually suggestive content involving minors (people under the age of 18)
Minors engaged in activities that are physically dangerous and harmful
Invasions of privacy
Threats
Harassment or Bullying
Impersonation
Self-Harm"

The move makes obvious sense. The app first gained popularity from people looking to exchange nudes that self destructed in seconds, but has since evolved into much more. In many states, as well, having a photo of a person under 18 is technically considered child pornography, even if you yourself are under the age of 18.

Kinda a sad commentary on today's youth, IMHO.

If you need an app to tell your kids to stop sexting, then YOU'RE part of the problem.......

Of course, most parents think their child would do no such thing. Especially their sweet daughters.

But what can you do as a parent?

Not allowed to spank anymore because it's "physical abuse". Not allowed to yell because it's "emotional abuse". Not allowed to calmly discuss how their actions are wrong because it's "politically incorrect" because "every kid is a winner".

I think the only option is to become emancipated from your children. Even that isn't a good option though. Then eventually we'll all have to deal with feral packs of kids, humping like rabbits and pissing in our flower beds.

Yeah.........they'll listen...........

NOT!

***And now I must reference to Ivymike's comment which is all too true.

I agree with Ivymike as well, what a shame...

Well, just take away their goddamn phones and throw them in the trash. That should help.

why is there no "Like" or "up-vote" button?

That wouldn't really help at all. You'd be charged with theft.

i liked my mothers take on it all.

Quote:
i brought you into this world, wiped your ass, kept you fed and clothed, put a roof over your head...but what do i get out of it? a head full of grey hair and the hope that you'll return favor one day.

to hell with anyone who tell's me how to raise my child.
my mother was the type that would take you to the police station and beat your ass with a belt in front of all of them. wouldn't trade her for the world.

Your mother is what my parents were like too, if you got in trouble it was DOUBLE trouble or worst.

It's sad that things now are the complete opposite, and we see society digress do to this partially.

It can't be thief if the parents take their kids phones away, or would it be these days? I know it would be abuse and the child police would intervene.
