Microsoft has added new extensions to its Edge browser

Earlier this week, Microsoft launched new extensions for its Edge browser, which until recently, had none.
The company has added extensions for Pinterest, Amazon, Evernote, LastPass, Reddit, Adblock and Adblock Plus, major companies with millions of customers. Edge is still far behind in the extension department, however, where Chrome and Firefox offer thousands of extensions of all types.

There had been rumors that Microsoft was planning on adding native ad-blocking through Edge, but the company clarified that the experience would be through third-parties, namely Adblock and Adblock Plus (currently).

"Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby present to you a wonder for the ages, the Gilded Turd™. Now, 50% shinier!"

I "meh" the "meh" that destroys worlds.

I can't stand all the shit Microsoft is shoving down our throats with there automatic updates. I've modified win 10 quite a bit on my machine but every update I get a ton of shit that I don't want.

I modified Windows 7 by removing all traces of their attempts at advertising (and eventually forcing) Windows 10 on me.

Even if I WANTED the POS, I can't use it, because I use ancient alternative drivers (XBCD for 360) for my XBOX 360 controller, so I can use it on old games, such as the Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries free release (yes, it still exists - lol). Windows 10 would uninstall XBCD repeatedly.

I actually own a legal Windows 7 Ultimate license, yet pirated it anyway, just to stick a thumb in M$'s eye.

I upgraded to Win 10 about two weeks ago, I have month to make up my mind if I want to keep it (Experiencing the same problems you have) I'm probably going to go back to Windows 7 very soon. Not liking Window 10 at all right now.

IF you have problems, DO NOT reinstall 10 to try to fix it, or you won't be able to go back to 7 for free (without pirating it)!

Clearly you haven't formatted your computer so reverting back is an option but every tech out there formats immediately.

I didn't hate 10 but didn't like at all. Slower, drivers are brutally unfinished, especially with NVidia.

Can't use 'autologin' when trying to mount an encrypted VHD if the c: drive (or the drive that the VHD is on) isn't bitlocker encrypted.

Can't remove things you won't use like XBox app, OneNote, etc

Can't prevent Windows updates and all too often there is a need for a fix for the fix.

Little "ghosts in the machine". Shit occurs that happens so subtly, you wonder if you did it before or are going crazy.

I'm a network engineer and upgraded to 10 the day of release and 4 months later. It's not ready for general use and should be revamped by addressing all the things I mentioned above and all the things everyone else is experiencing regularly.

I will stay with Win7 until 2020

What's worse, this article is about the extensions. I don't use Adblock plus anymore because it sucks and is inefficient. Ublock Origin is the only one I use now and that'll be a LOOOONG time before coming out. Edge is horrid, albeit fast as Hell.

As I'm typing this on my Mac, I'm having a nice laugh at all the problems everyone is having. :P

And Macs have their own suite of silliness, of course.

You pay for the flexibility of Windows and the Intel platform (which even Macs eventually ended up adopting) with some inherent issues, sure, but having used all 3 major OSes, I still prefer Windows 7 over any other current OS release, although Linux distros are more and more polished by the day, as an alternative.

Once Windows 7 goes the way of the Elasmosaurus - semi-mythically found in the wild, like Nessie xD - I guess it's Linux or bust. I don't see M$ reversing their course too soon, the kool-aid is too strong, and considering Windows 10 is now officially the "final" release of Windows ever... Wow. I cannot be less impressed, without violating certain obscure laws of physics.

Honestly i did a lot of big brother removal from windows 10.

1. i disabled all of microsofts access to my machine with ad's and spyware.

2. i disabled and removed microsoft edge web browser when i found out that when someone uses the bull sh*t security ad your computer has been locked please call microsoft to unlock it scam you can't recover from it unless you uninstall edge browser then reinstall it.

Hell no

its my o.s

i hate using windows i prefer my macintosh because apple may be pricks at times but there o.s doesn't spy on you
